Reddit has such a hard-on for LTT, but I’ve found their videos kinda insufferable for… 10 years? Then after the GN/heatsink selling (sorry fans, ”AUCTIONING” …) I knew they were poo.
Fair enough, I don’t watch their sponsored videos and am not going to to check this, so I can’t comment on how misleading they are. I just don’t like how many they do of those and how hard it is to tell them apart from the regular content/reviews. That said, I’ve never seen it affect their videos or opinions outside of the sponsor spot. Linus will still say whatever he wants in other videos, especially on WAN, and if there is an issue with a company then they cease sponsors with them. They’ve demonstrated that with Anker and their Eufy products.
I was primarily confused in your original comment because you mentioned watercooling a room. They still do big/stupid projects like this, such as Linus watercooling via his pool, it’s just hard to find amongst the filler garbage. You also mentioned dunking on companies, which he still does when they do stupid shit, though rarely via a dedicated video.
Thanks for explaining your point, I was fully expecting to be ghosted after the first downvote…
From every linux related ltt video or wan show I’ve seen. My personal favourite is probably a video about AtlasOS, where he presents modified windows os with many security vulnerabilities and makes some comment like “who needs linux when you have this!” (not actual citation, dont remeber exact wording, feel free to check it out)
I mean…if I thought it was obvious, I obviously wouldn’t be asking. What seems obvious is that you’re deflecting because you don’t actually have an answer.
He uses Windows for almost anything. The things he does use that are not Windows based are very few and he doesn’t usually explain in detail what they are… because he doesn’t know what they are.
He is a Windows fanboy. He praises how some things are so simple to achieve in Windows (no doubt there, some things are), but lacks to mention how complicated others are… like let’s say get rid or old updates… which used to be a real problem until a few years ago (I now understand that it is again a problem in Windows 11).
Using an OS suited to his needs (gaming/content creation) isn’t being a fanboy, it’s using the best possible tools for the job. Linux is still a worse gaming experience than windows, no matter what way you try to sell it
Linus is just a windows fanboy, just like i am a linux fanboy

Yes… but what colour?
Sorry what? He still does the first two and I have no idea what you’re referencing with the view% comment.

The sexual harassment stuff didn’t help either.
Where do you get that idea from?

Being a primarily-Windows user is not the same thing as being a Windows “fanboy”.
He almost never even talks about Mac or Linux so, simple compared to what?
Just that they’re simple, nothing more. And they are, but other things are not, and he fails to mention that.
Using an OS suited to his needs (gaming/content creation) isn’t being a fanboy, it’s using the best possible tools for the job. Linux is still a worse gaming experience than windows, no matter what way you try to sell it
So, what you’re saying is, people doing Linux related YT videos are not Linux fanboys, they’re just using the best possible tools for the job.
