  • Late to the game but it was DnD night for me! Nearly lost a party member but our cleric pulled a revivify! (Honestly with the diamond requirement, we pulled some shenanigans to get it to work but the DM was chill about it). But @ 2300 hrs, the fucking bad guy came back with a second health bar and like all of us are tapped for spells and potions, so we’ll see next session who actually makes it out! Got my second character set up already!

  • He wants to send his daughters to school in a place where they’re not only being valued for their wombs. Where they’re looked at as being equal contributors to their field of study. Where they’re provided opportunities the same as every other scholar there, and not assumed to be in college to find a husband.

And, yes, there is a bit of “if they get into trouble will they have options?” At play I’m sure as well.

    Quit being obtuse.

  • I’m white af, but, as an American, I didn’t get treated as rudely anywhere else in Germany than Berlin. Still had a great time overall in the city, but, not really in a rush to go back.

My friend and I were standing at a bar mulling over the menu, just kind of murming to one another over what drinks we wanted while we were waiting for the bartender to finish up with his other customers. It wasn’t busy, but he was attending to other people. When he was finally done, he approached us and I said “Hi how are you?” with a smile. He didn’t say a single word to us, just took the menus from in front of us and put them on the back shelf, and then turned away.

So we left. Our money clearly wasn’t good enough there, and we spent it in another bar across the alleyway instead.

I feel this so hard. I fucking see you. I’m very much a extrovert. I enjoy going out and doing things with people MUCH more than I do being at home. I get hype when I get to plan something, whether that’s at my house for a D&D session or out and about around town (or even vacations). I’m also a “more the merrier type”, which means everyone is invited and I’ll genuinely talk to you/make sure no one is left out. I just like people.

But after a certain amount of times being stood-up/flaked on in the final hours, I stop with the invites. I stop asking for people’s opinions on if they want to do things with me. I stop planning. And I just kinda disconnect from people.

I’ve had introverted coworkers and associates tell me “I like to be invited, I just don’t always like to go. But I want to be included.”

But bruh, it hurts my feelings too when I get so excited to hang with everyone and you bail regularly. Clearly at some point I have to accept that I’m just not your cup of tea, and you’re prioritizing other things. That’s okay, but it doesn’t mean I have to accept continuously being knocked down by you because of it.

Imma take a stab in the dark and say that you’re your friend groups “planner” friend as well. It’s really fucking frustrating to try and plan something as simple as a dinner that requires reservations, and people are like “Um. Uh. Maybe I’ll come, idk”, up until the last minute. Or even a headcount for food being served at your house.

  • My favorite thing when I visited SW Germany was Fleishkase (I’ve also heard it referred to as Leberkase), and I’ve been unable to find it anywhere here in the states. I ate it at least once a week, grilled on a crusty bread with mustard from a Barbarossa bakery, and anywhere I traveled that had it on the menu I tried it (shoutout to Trier for having my favorit!)

I’ve been meaning to look into how difficult it is to make. I’ve been dreaming about it for like 2 years now 😭

Edit: Also, yes, kasespaetzle is next level fantastic. That I can kind of get at the Commissary on most military bases though, because us Americans want access to all the neat shit we get used to while serving overseas. However, while it’s yummy, it’s also prepackaged noodles just-add-water type shit at the Commissary, and not half as good as what I had over in Germany. Does scratch the itch when I’m craving it though!

  • Man I feel this. I’ve been obsessed with Cooking Diary since May of last year.

Just this morning, I popped awake, threw on some YT drama videos for background noise, and just played CD for like an hour and a half before I was like “Time to be productive”. Good easy start to a Sunday.

That being said, I saw further down you try not to spend money on the mobile games. I went through a phase in 2019/2020 where I was fucking massively into a Chinese dating Sim game called “Mr Love Queens Choice.” I spent $850 over the course of 2 years. It was a great game and I had a ton of fun, but there was a point where I crossed into a bonus tier that you could only get to by spending a certain dollar amount. And then I was like “Oh. Oh no boo boo what is you doin’?!”.
