We use both Azure and AWS at work. Azure is less expensive. But it’s also like comparing a corner 7-11 to a city-sized shopping mall. AWS is freaking huge and they add new services every week it seems. It’s kind of overwhelming.
There’s also Google Cloud and IBM and Oracle but they all suck for the same reasons AWS and Azure suck.
You might want to look into Alibaba Cloud, Digital Ocean, and/or Linode/Akamai.

I was good at math until Cal III when I hit the wall. I’ve forgotten almost all of what I learned, though. So I’m not really good at math anymore. Unless you enter certain career paths, most people won’t need to use advanced math in their day-to-day. I bet you’re good at some non-math stuff.

There’s only so much value an AI can learn from reddit bullshit like “1. break off all contact 2. hit the gym 3. profit” and “the narwhal bacons at midnight” and endless boring pun threads.
The tech bros very much need to be reigned in, but I understand a nuanced approach is necessary because it’s an area where the US is still somewhat competitive, and millions of jobs are on the line.
As for Lina Khan, I hope Kamala Harris, if elected, will give her full support on Khan’s investigation into PBMs. Pharmacy Benefits Managers are one of the primary reasons prescription drugs are outrageously expensive. And up until recently, most Americans didn’t even know they exist.
Both Big Tech and Big Pharma need much stronger regulations and oversight by the feds.

You did a good thing and got out of your comfort zone and engaged in a friendly manner. However, it takes practice, and you may have given off a “used car salesman” vibe or some other vibe without meaning to. Also, some of your new coworkers could be very introverted or even snobs. You can’t control other people, only yourself. Give it some more practice, but maybe dial it down a few notches. Trust has to be earned in both directions and this can take a long time in some work environments.

I’m getting older, have few weapons and only paintball experience. So I’m of no use in combat. I’m fairly certain foreign powers would get involved, and I’d be curious to see what they do. Getting accurate news and info is difficult right now. I imagine it would be near impossible during a 2nd civil war.
