Thanks. I will look up that distro.

Just like SSRI’s, Ecstasy does interfere with your hypothalamus and temperature regulation. So, small energy expenditures creat oversized responses.
You would still sweat heavily doing more than lying down with a fan blowing on you.
It’s really all about having a way to get past encryption so they can spy on everyone indiscriminately. It’s pushed that it’s to save kids and unmask pedos, but the people in charge know the pedophiles are their rich donors.
It’s about controlling opposition and making sure the wealthy can stay on top. Imagine if no small business can hide their information from their competitors.
Sadly Bazzite doesn’t work well with Nvidia. But that would have been my choice.
Thanks for the info. I’ve noticed that having an Nvidia GPU may be my downfall. I would hate to have to switch my 3080 for my son’s 6800XT or even have to buy another GPU When I need to switch.
I have spent over 30 years doing IT work, so figuring out another OS won’t be too hard since I’ve worked through almost everything starting in the 90’s.
Sorry I’m late, but I would say that that case means a system should have rules to define when and where the majority of the files are at. Or at least a defined way to declare which system is one-way, and which is two-way.
The old Google Calendar system had that flag, so I find it strange that Apple wouldn’t, unless they really want to push the iCloud data Subscription model.
In the US, there are multiple Supreme Court precedent cases that force profit-maximizing. Shareholders can sue the CEO and board to maximize profit seeking.
So yes, increasing shareholder value is enshrined in US law. Only private corporations can get around that rule. Also, a corporation cannot be forced to break the law to maximize profits, that’s just something most CEO’s are willing to do for fun.
I think the issue comes that it only syncs messages one way and doesn’t sync on deletions. Apple should have messages that are removed from all devices when removed from the phone, but it didn’t remove messages when deleted.
Sure the guy is a moron for being a cheater and scumbag, but Apple should remove deleted messages. That’s a privacy problem with Apple’s sync. I don’t use Apple devices due to other Apple crap, but setting up iCloud sync should have a warning when items won’t be deleted and only will be downloaded to devices.
Wasn’t an entire stupid movie about the horrible sync pitfalls in Apple devices premiered years ago?
Yep, I will switch to Linux before I get another OS from Microsoft. Once 10 goes away, I jump onto a Linux distribution and use Proton.
I was hoping for a Steam Created distribution to come out, but I’ve been waiting for that for years. I’m just too lazy to switch over before I have to.
As much as I want “Jarvis” OS system, I really don’t want the version made by Microsoft, Google, or, Apple.
I want to be able to talk with my AI PC, but I want secure AI that’s just for me and won’t steal all my data for any Corporations to browse.
This is what many economists were talking about how broken the system is now. MBA’s are expecting short term growth to increase infinitely, which is impossible, so you start cannibalizing more and more profitable sectors of your business until you can no longer make anything with what you have left because you gave up yearly profits of billions for quarterly growth that is unsustainable.
I wouldn’t have expected video games to be the first industry to start the fall.
I never said I had proof in the first paragraph. The fact that 76 got dumped on a nobody studio means other studios did use the IP to create a fallout 4 mod. But, it was a newly purchased studio who made 76. Microsoft owns enough that they could make a game with another studio bypassing Bethesda if they want.
I was just thinking aloud is all. Fallout has always seemed as a left behind second class property compared to anything from the Elder Scrolls.
Also, I do understand that it’s all not a one person deal, but it’s a lot easier to put a single person as the face of the developer who has acted as the face of the entire studio. He acts as the arbiter of The Elder Scrolls and Fallout in the Media, I shouldn’t have to look up the org chart for each game.
The same reading between the lines everyone else does when they’re h8alf asleep too.
Like everyone else, I don’t work for them or have any inside information, but I do know that Zenimax was part of the Koch Industry funded machine and having a backup brand makes good business sense.
I think I figured out why Todd Howard seems to have tried to make Fallout die; he never wanted to buy Fallout, but was pressured by Zenimax into purchasing a second IPin case The Elder Scrolls ever fails.
Fallout has always been a backup to The main Elder Scrolls games in case he makes a mistake. If Fallout succeeds in a massive way, there is a chance he will have to start giving it more resources than his own pride and joy.
It’s classic step-parent mentality. The suits made him into a step parent, so he managed a quick skin over oblivion and just copied bits and pieces of the first games stories like a high school student copying a book report from a book he never read. He didn’t really care about the substance from the previous games, but there was a lot of old concept art they could mash up and the 50’s aesthetic meant they could save a lot of money on licensing fees for music.
Then is sold big and ruined his chances for quietly making the story go away. But Skyrim was a huge success which should have made the idea of a second IP unnecessary. So, they decided to focus on their new game and let a company known for doing cheap sequels for other game companies IP.
Personally I wonder if Todd Howard was actually paying attention to who Obsidian had on staff, or if he just wanted a company who was willing to take the millstone from his neck so he could focus on the game he really wanted to make. The reason I think that Todd didn’t know who Obsidian were is because of how he treated the next company who he let play with the Fallout IP.
Fallout 76 was the only other title made by a mostly outside developer. I say mostly, because they were a newly acquired studio who had no real experience. Which led to a failure in Fallout 76 from launch. Compare that to how ESO was put together. It was built by Zenimax Online a core studio designed just for an online MMO Elder Scrolls game. They weren’t forced to use the single-player Gamebryo/Creation Engine. It was designed as it’s own online game.
Fallout has been consistently designed to fail, which is why Microsoft should just remove it from Bethesda and get someone who understands the story and is willing to follow the real story Canon make new games. We’re in this issue because Todd Howard has been forced to work on Fallout, which is amazing how even with him trying the screw it up, we still enjoy the Fallout world.
I wish Microsoft would force Bethesda to share their toys with other people.
Todd Howard is the epitome of the egotistical rich wannabe need who takes his toys away if someone does something better than he does.
Gamers love Obsidian’s rushed bullied New Vegas better than 3, make sure they never get another chance to let someone else into their sandbox.
They try to copy Mass Effect’s dialog system and voiced protagonist to do “something new” it backfires. Fallout 4 has no real tied story to it besides a few lines from a single quest from Fallout 3. The Factions are a copy and paste job based around an AI system so they don’t have to write content.
I find it wasetul of Microsoft that they Purchased a studio and IP worth Billions and will allow them to gather dust for over a decade without any ROI? Why aren’t they starting to force Bethesda to make something with the Fallout IP.
InXile should at least be allowed to remaster Fallout 1. They have Brian Fargo still there to oversee it. It all reminds me of Doctor Who taking a break when they were at their peak popularity, then coming back after losing most of their fans.

It seems like a similar play when thr Sci-fi channel changed their name to SyFy and canceled the greatest science fiction shows and replaced them with Wrestling and ghost-hunting reality TV to save money.
The Discovery Merger saddled HBO with the debt from the purchase of HBO, and removing Expensive scripted shows with costly actors is a way to save money. As well as closing series to take the losses as tax deductions for the future.
I was raised to be ashamed of anything I enjoyed. So I damn well am going to hide everything from anyone who knows me.
I’ll be in my corner with the rest of the abused people, alone.
Not only task manager, but the ability to open up zip files inside the regular explorer folders was him too.
Made them on his own time and sold it to Microsoft, back when that was possible.
I can’t wait to load up my Pirate save after I finish walking the dog. I wonder what the next expedition will be like?
I wasn’t expecting ths big of a change, but should have expected it after the Space Stations update.
