Cool! Yeah, they also have Ringen which also can be nice! I tried sword fighting a couple of times but I don’t like the competition form of it (also I’m bad at it).

I do more than playfully wrestle with my friends. As I do BJJ. I actively try to choke them out or try to break their limbs or try to tear their ligaments apart. It’s very fun for all. Though while it’s open to anyone I do get most people wouldn’t enjoy it. It’s personally physical to the extreme since on top of the close physical contact you’re also sweating all over each other to the point sweat dripping in your eyes or mouth will statistically happen at least once.
Honestly if you feel like you miss playful fighting with friends, do a trial class of it.
The previous videos were too long for anyone who doesn’t want to obsess about this. And this one is more pragmatic about your detergent of choice and thus more palatable for people who aren’t already fans of his.
It’s also takes him less time to make videos like this according to the messages on his patreon.
Personally I’m a fan of him remaking some videos like this. I can get my family to watch this a lot easier.
That screen didn’t exist in Win XP. If it had, it would have been a different shade of blue. This is either Win10 though I suspect it’s Win11.
Thanks, will check that out.
Command line stuff on Windows (server) is in a pretty decent state now, imo. It’s not perfect but more and more is manageable with powershell. It took some time to really grok that you’re basically always working with objects but I’m a big fan and now quite dislike having to deal with just “text” output when I do something in Linux. (Probably also because I need to do a lot less in it so I’m not used to it as much)
Personally again I also like the naming scheme much more than how it’s done in bash. If I need to do something I don’t know I can search the command by using logical words. E.g. I want to change the properties of a service but don’t know the command by heart I can use
Get-Command service
And I’ll get a list of all commands that contain the word service.
When it comes to admin privileges you simply have the privileges of the account you used to start the session, which has its’ own dangers I suppose since it requires you to maintain account hygiene yourself.
Except this doesn’t work as faultless as you expect. If your DC is not reachable for some reason when you log in, you’ll have to authenticate afterwards to actually access the share. (If the share even loaded properly because this tends to happen in the login phase).
This not to say there are no security risks to what is happening, but this situation is much, much more common than you think. And having to authenticate again at that point is actually more secure than just assuming you have access because your username exists or you authenticated against cached credentials.
Yellow with blue line us even better for CCTV use imo.
Do you still have carpets? I find that carpets are much bigger indicators of whether my dust mite allergy will kick up rather than visible dust that’s flowing around. Best of luck in any case.
Yeah, I get surgery sometimes is pushed unnecessary but in my case my femur head made me have a FAI angle of only 35 degrees. Which caused physical damage to the point of oedema, osteoporosis, a cyst and shredded connective tissue. No PT is going to solve that. Recovery took over a year but at least I can now train 4-5 times a week again when before I was lucky if I could go once every two weeks.
And fuck chiropractors. I’m still angry at my former physician for referring me to a quack who cracked my neck for something that literally was a congenital problem with my femur head. I suppose I should have gotten a second opinion but I brought this up from when I was twenty untill in my thirties. It was only spotted when I got a full body RX for something else.
Oh I know not to fight when something is lost, but in nogi my shit just gets wrecked superfast because it’s so explosive and people treat your neck like it’s a handle.
I’ve been doing martial arts in general for almost 30 years now, and I definitely was too careless when I was young. Bad advice about injuries where I got sent to a chiropractor instead of a surgeon meant I already had to get hip surgery before I had turned 40. (Bad FAI angles aggravated by trying to break through the pain, for over a decade, since I believed everyone I was being lazy and soft) I’m luckily more careful now, but there’s still days where I’m in pain just from walking or driving my car.
BJJ will keep you mentally young but your body will start feeling a lot older. Upside is that it’ll be able to do more cool stuff.
Remember that you can tell him you’re too poor for that. Because even to get in the supporting classes you need to be quite a bit more than just “wealthy”.
I wish I could say the same but if you want to date you have to here. I despise and absolutely hate how you have to you use a phone number to register. And then every contact you have can add you to a group so everyone there now can have your number.
I’ve had a stalker before and I hate that stuff like that makes it trivially easy for her to get my number again. I literally can’t understand how women are okay with absolutely shitty systems like this. I really can’t repeat enough how much I strongly hate WhatsApp and how everyone else thinks it’s so good for exactly the reason that I hate it. It’s too easy to send messages despite me never giving you my number to begin with. SMS is the same but you can’t add me to a group without my permission and share my number with a group of people I don’t know.
I loved BG2 and it was one of my favourite games ever for a very long time. Though when I read the old BG sub on Reddit it seems people there disliked everything I loved and hyperfocused on things I just considered part of the vehicle to deliver an amazing story that allowed so much freedom and depth that made you feel emotional and connected. I had tried to replay BG2 but the mechanics are so, so outdated now and distracting.
BG3 over delivers on the choice depth, story and connection but does so with an updated, fun and much better engine with much more mechanics.
Yes, MM DD YY only makes sense when you’re speaking
For many people it doesn’t. It’s something that’s exclusive to the US. In British English it’s day before month when speaking.
It’s something that is taught in school as “remember that the Americans say date before month so you don’t get confused”. But in a business context it’s bloody annoying you don’t switch to the international standard.
In British English you say the date before the month as well. I know that even saying the month first sounds very jarring too me.
Literally my first thought too. Such a great unique game. You as the player character are insignificant but you’re not boring or bland.
I paid for sync for Reddit, I donated to my Lemmy instance and I’ll pay for Sync for Lemmy once I decide for myself whether I take the subscription, simply ad free or one time payment for ultra. As there’s still fixes to the pricing going on I’ll wait out for that
I guess I’m biased with paying for software since I work at a company that makes software it also offers in its’ own SaaS platform. I literally maintain the infrastructure so I’m intimately familiar with those costs. I appreciate anyone who offers software and service for free. But there’s always a cost and if you want premium service you’ll need to pay for it.
That is ofcourse another justification and easy one since paying for sync is almost nothing to me. I do hope the free Sync keeps being a good alternative for anyone who wants to try it.
I guess that’s just the intentional innuendo I use about it. If you look up bjj memes (or Craig Jones) you’ll find most people preempt the jokes insecure people might make about dressing up in lycra and wrestling with other sweaty men in a padded room.
