When I started using SOLIDWORKS I had 0 training, still managed to make it work. FreeCAD is still frustrating after a lot of effort. But I keep trying, because it’s the only real open source option

It’s still… Difficult if you’re used to commercial CAD suites, but it’s leagues better than it used to be
Well, they started out doing simple fixes and gradually went for deeper ones, I guess this is a signal that they’ve crossed a threshold and are putting special effort into modifying games for current and future machines
Siemens Field PG: you make a lot of money
Afaik the fingerprint is stored on dedicated hardware on your device, it never leaves your phone and cannot be “read”
I mean if they help children grow when they have no real parents…
Far from my distro of choice but better compatibility with one distro usually translates to similar improvements on the others.
I’m very interested in the framework laptops, a 14" UHD touchscreen one would be an instant buy, the current lineup is still tempting nonetheless.
Single-biome planet is a quite common trope in “science fiction” (tvtropes warning)…

I think it’s Mercedes that has two mini touchpads on the steering wheel? Horrible.

Still a good bargain, all things considered.
Businesses use more power than people. They get it cheaper too.
Yeah well that’s the effect of the modern world, where works can be replicated effortlessly. Sucks if your work is producing physical goods that can’t be copy/pasted.
I’m pretty sure that if Microsoft provided a decent way to do what Crowdstrike does, most companies would opt for that.

Now it’s either a subscription or an “app” model, how long can a developer continue to support a 3€ one-time-buy app with new features? Buyers run out sooner or later.
I went Inventor -> SOLIDWORKS -> Fusion -> SOLIDWORKS with maybe 3% of the issues I’ve had with FreeCAD.
You can’t easily create models based on other models, or place things around as easily, it’s always a mess of shape binders and fixed coordinates, it really limits the capabilities of the software.
