I use nextcloud for tasks and then use tasks.org on android, not sure what features you need, but that has worked great for me
Your dad sounds fun
With how fast phones start up nowadays, that’s hardly a pain
I know people who just leave games running in the background for a whole day while they’re gone. I honestly have no idea why someone would do that
Replaced with one god awful one. I actually liked the calendar application, does all I need it to do. But no, I can’t have just a calendar application anymore according to Microsoft
Now it’s difficult to find what you’re looking for, without finding awesome shit on the way
I had to look up what carrion eaters are, but it’s animals that eat old or decaying meat like vultures and coyotes
Functionality out of the box aside, we need to start taking e-waste seriously
Won’t happen unless it’s more profitable, which it will never be without government intervention. Luckily the EU is on the right track, but the US don’t seem to care
Indeed, micro SD is much slower, but for some things that just doesn’t matter. Music and movies play just fine from an SD card
Yeah it’s a totally different thing. I guess people who make the keyboards only really speak one language. It’s taken so much time to find a keyboard that actually does it. Gboard does it and I think Swiftkey used to as well, but those are not open source obviously.
I still have a bit of configuring to do for Heliboard, but I think I can get it to work for me
That’s a completely different application. You could try darktable, its free and open source and really good imo. A bit more complicated than lightroom for editing, but also more powerful (apart from ai features, which it lacks)
No way, why is that so hidden? I’ll check heliboard out! Thanks for the @, really appreciate it.
Now to find a swipe typing library
They have a language switch button actually if you hold the space-bar, but I need it to be without having to switch manually
Yeah that’s exactly it for me, I regularly switch between Dutch and English, so having to switch with a button is a nuisance. GBoard allows me to switch without any input
No multilingual typing with FUTO though right, or did I miss something?
Looks great but that is not a good name for an application
The drive was probably not physically damaged, so they could still recover some data from software
I find it interesting, manufacturers of laptops and maybe even desktops, are looking to switch to arm after decades of x86.
And home servers, which have run on arm for years, are now switching to x86
There are other things which might touch your screen like dust, which are much harder than a fingernail and thus will be able to scratch it. Just because it hasn’t happened to you yet doesn’t mean it’s not possible.
At the end of the day a glass screen will always be more scratch resistant than a plastic screen
