This dude always looked like a college aged Gregory House to me.

I use my hair dryer daily so does my wife. Dropped a little more than I was comfortable with on a Parlux and I’ve never looked back. There is a reason they have rules this game since the 70s. Also: they are serviceable (I don’t know for sure but I doubt the Dyson stuff is) so you can get a good long lifespan out of one.

The true halcyon days were before the Digg migration. Sorry, I know most folks on the site and very likely here too were part of that diaspora but it’s fair to say that Reddit was very different and yes: better before that.

Reddit is a dogshow but Lenny has issues too.

Maybe it’s my instance or some other config but when I open lennmy it’s just wall to wall communist/anti capitalist, open source wanking and musk hate.

Look, people, musk is a cunt, capitalism is ruining not only the planet but yes also the hearts and minds of people and proprietary software probably should be a little less pervasive than what it is but can we, just for one fucking nano second discuss literally anythingbg else?

In my experience (and again perhaps just with whatever I’ve been able to set up) lemmy is tiresome, parochial and very much a one-dimensional experience.

Can any of us remember when Reddit was actually fun? A little of the silliness that made it endearing? Dumb stories about Kevin, incessant nonsense about bacon, when AMA was a fucking legendary little nook of the internet? Surely some of those are the things this community would want to foster, a little light heartedness? Look at the popularity of the Trekkie stuff, nothing to learn there?

It’s cool though, I don’t have to come here and this has all helped me realise that. I’m literally only on here typing this because I’m taking a dump rn.

Politics and whatever the other maladies are that infect Reddit aside: the app and the website are impossibly difficult to use. Ita just ads ads ads. Even if the place was a veritable utopia that’s a no from me dawg.

Positive and negative are qualitative and measures in this case.

Subjective ones at that.

The halcyon days of Lemmy lasted a week or so. As soon as you have mods coming over for Reddit you have all the shit they are schlepoed along with them. I’m only in here when I’m shitting and then only because I’ve memorised the blurb on the back of the air freshener can already.

The only millennials I give a shit about are the ones who made my life painful as they entered the working world and even then, away from the office as long as they are not trying to police speech we are chill.
