For sure, just without the declarative part. I never heard of this today, so I’ll check it out too. I’ve stayed away from declarative stuff because I don’t have time to learn a whole programming language like with Nix, but its still interesting.

Arkane Linux. The argument for using a more stable base for an immutable system is that you can get all the updated libraries and things you need by running things as flatpaks or in distrobox.
But I’ve always wanted an immutable Arch because if something breaks, you just roll back without having to use Snapper or anything like that. Think maintenance free Arch where you can even autoupdate without much worry.
Rolling your own arch images is made easier too, so you can do all the customization you want, but as a base part of your system instead of packages installed after the fact.
That said, I still run Ublue variants on all my devices with Arch containers. But I hope this project sees steady momentum.
They have always planned to have continual revenue by offering their own hosting services similar to paid google photos after Immich goes stable. This is just another odd way of doing donations that Futo uses for stuff like Greyjay.
Well that’s awesome news. I used it a little over a year ago, so I didn’t know they were working on it.
Okay, smuglord. It’s a massive inconvenience compared to doing literally nothing. And it heavily depends on what apps you use and how often they update.
Last I used it, Aurora store can’t do automatic updates without user attention. Is that still true? If so, it’s adding another massive inconvenience.
What part of how he’s been treated? Nobody is making fun of him for being neurodivergent and picking his toes in public. Its gross, but ultimately not harmful. People have problems with his inability to understand how his comments about sex with minors are not appropriate either. There’s a big gap between these two things and if you fall into it, you’re probably okay.
I posted my own comment, but every time Stallman comes up, this is what I refer people to: https://drewdevault.com/2023/11/25/2023-11-26-RMS-on-sex.html
As you said, these are not his “early views”, but a continuing and shifting pattern. You can read his own blog posts and its all there.
He’s a creep and any org still employing him doesn’t care about women or children.

And for continuing below subpar performance compared to every other brand if the trend continues from the Tensor G1 to now. Which there’s no indication of that stopping.
It seems like you didn’t read the link I posted because the point is to demonstrate that he clearly hasn’t changed his opinion in any meaningful way. Using neurodivergence as an excuse for disgusting behavior is also silly af. His presence is harmful because of what it signals to people who have to work with him. That his views and inappropriate behavior (especially toward women) will be tolerated. It isn’t just ‘bad takes’, its sexually harassing people and normalizing pedophilia. Its very strange you seem to be so against bigotry in other threads but have a soft spot for this particular sex pest.
So am I. Being neurodivergent doesn’t excuse making people feel unsafe or uncomfortable in your presence because of your comments about sex with children and inappropriate behavior toward women.
He was a large contributer to the open software movement. That’s fair. But there’s no need to idolize him or anyone else when there are plenty of other capable people who dont behave this way.
It literally links to his blog numerous times, but keep playing defense. It always makes the open source community look great to continue their associations with him.
Stallman would have been jealous. https://drewdevault.com/2023/11/25/2023-11-26-RMS-on-sex.html
Technically true but they belong to the same ‘service’ and because of the vague policy, I dont know whether that means they’d suddenly terminate my account.
So I can’t even use two different Lemmy accounts on different instances? Or have a public social media account and a ‘business’ one I use to share my own music or something? My dual-boxing MMO accounts? There’s a lot of use cases for 2 emails/accounts at the very least.
This is a solvable problem but requires thinking about anything but profits for a minute. Require accounts and ban them permanently from all comment sections. They only won’t do this because it means that person might unsubscribe.
Doesn’t seem to work for me in several apps. Rip.
Is there an easier way to swap between the keyboards other than pressing the keyboard button in the lower right? I want to like press my power button to activate that instead of an assistant.
That Firefox bug is Mozilla’s fault and happens to anyone on Wayland + Nvidia right now. It’s fixed in the nightly Firefox build. There’s no official flatpaks for the nightly, but you can install it in distrobox and export it.
I recommend hopping in their Discord for help with your game. The devs are always responding to folks in there.
