As far as I can tell, it’s a purple state. The right republican would have to come along to pull moderates/libertarians in the state and Trump will only lose the state again - he talked a lot of shit about John McCain; that’s not going to go well. Don’t get me wrong, every state has it’s Trump cultists, but there’s just not enough.
Just block them - that’s what I did. Works well on Lemmy.
It’s the niche topics that need more activity. I love science - mostly space/physics - and it’s mostly a ghost town. Once the unique corners grow their activity, it’s going to be great.
Off topic, but this is the best Lemmy comment section I’ve ever read through: really diverse, mostly civil, super interesting and insightful.
“Repeat until you think it’s correct. Hopefully other people agree with you.”
Dark Energy has entered the chat.
For those with time to spare: study all you can about neutron stars (including magnetars and quark stars), then go back to “black holes” (especially their event horizons and beyond) and there’s a good chance you’ll feel like a lot of aspects in BH theories are mythologies written in math - all of it entertaining, nonetheless.
For those who seek extra credit, study zero-point energy before reflecting on cosmic voids, galaxy filaments, galaxies, gravitationally bound celestial systems, quantum chromodynamics and neutrinos. Then, ponder the relativity between neutron stars, zero-point energy and hadron quark sea.
You have to go further than that. A huge population only cares about itself and has made it a part of their identity. Those who have it well don’t have to think about those without: drive to or work from home, live and socialize on internet platforms that isolate themselves from the plight of those with less. They can order everything online and have it delivered to their door - they have no clue and depending on how separated they are from those struggling, they may just say, “those people just aren’t working hard enough,” or some similar line of thinking. It’s not hopeless, but we need far more progress in the US, especially with wage inequality and affordable living/homes. Jeff Bazos is allowed to help buy up single family homes so the rich can rent them out…it makes me so angry and sad.
I like it so far. I wish niche communities were more active in comments (I see plenty of upvotes). Beyond that I’d love to see less copy posts but I guess it hard to pick who wins unless it’s just some first come first serve for “front page?”
Illusions of Gaia and Secret of Mana 100% - they’re action JRPGs but have the same vibe in many ways.
I’m waiting for an Aussie to enter the chat…
Be the change you want to play with…I mean see…
Honestly, that’s fine - Lemmy is now a known alternative and best of all, has time to grow more naturally and be better situated for the next eventual migration (I’m a Reddit migrant myself).
If a child has no one else to play with what do they do, play by themselves - many mammals do. Paws are just what’s in front of them - and sometimes tails. It’s all about play which prepares them for hunting.
NPR and many decent sources also sources a lot of their news from AP and Reuters. Perhaps some sites have the money for nice interacting graphs or information but I’ll only partake after verifying that information between sites like AP and Reuters.
Hide it near a police station - who’d ever check near a police station? But make sure it’s very close to it - closer the better; it’s like a spit in their face.
Plz, plz watch Matrix before or after Tron - it’ll blow your mind 🤯
STIM doesn’t include ethics, psychology, and sociology. It’s amazing how many book-smart people are terrible humans.
Wait, there are people who don’t? J/k but I like to pretend to kick the air as if I’m kicking a door open/down. I get looks, and I’m okay with that.
