Marginal? You must be joking. A vast amount of servers run on Windows Server. Where I work alone we have several hundred and many companies have a similar setup. Statista put the Windows Server OS market share over 70% in 2019. While I find it hard to believe it would be that high, it does clearly indicate it’s most certainly not a marginal percentage.

I never had issues with Amazon support. To be fair, the last time I needed support was over 4 years ago, but still. I got to chat with some real person relatively quickly who managed to address the issue swiftly.

I have 4 cats and I handle them all without getting scratched while trimming their nails. There is one cat that will bite the nail scissors, she is tricky to handle because of that. When she catches a finger between the nail scissors and her teeth, she bites full force and that does not make a pleasant experience. I tried burritoing her, but it’s just easier to have her on her back and using sleight of hand to distract her.

I used to like mac OS when I used it on a macbook as a daily driver, years ago (haven’t owned a mac in a decade now). But recently I helped my mom set up a new macbook and I found it unwield.
I’m also with you on the Ubuntu and gnome front, although a buddy of mine swears with it. I just don’t like it. Not sure why, I have tried to work with Ubuntu + GNOME several times and I always end up switching to a different build.

For me, Lemmy is a bit of a mixed bag, but I’m still not returning to being active on reddit. Lemmy is very tech centric and sometimes it’s a bit much. While I am interested in tech, I am also interested in art, literature, history and sports. For those subjects there aren’t many posts and no, I don’t want to create and mod a community. I’m just not that type of person.
I do go on reddit sometimes, when I’m bored with Lemmy or when I want to know more about a specific subject that is non-existent or very niche here. But without user account. All in all it’s ok here, and it’s growing. It will probably slowly continue to grow, but it’s probably too complicated to go mainstream, which is a good thing imo to maintain the quality of the platform, but a bad thing for content diversity.
