As another 90s kid that watched the prequels in theatres as they came out: I enjoyed the originals, even though I was only about half your age at the time. Probably worth noting that my mum made sure that I watched the original trilogy before Phantom Menace. And I’m sorry but the acting in the PT is supposed to be better than in the OT? What? No. Nothing against the actors because a lot of it was due to writing (especially for Anakin and Padmé’s shared scenes, especially especially in II where Anakin is such a fucking creep) and direction, but no.

At least you can quickly read a tweet, considering how short they are it takes like a second. Shorts are worse, you have the same limited information but you have to watch the whole damn thing to get it (even with subtitles).

Where are you from? Where are you going? Can’t really give you advice without knowing those things.

As a general rule: don’t expect perfection. Some things will suck, and if you go in expecting everything to be perfect you’ll be disappointed. Also, wherever you go is still a normal place, filled with normal people, living normal lives. Don’t be a nuisance to the locals, and don’t expect/demand anyone not working in hospitality to go out of their way on your behalf (and even people working in hospitality, the “the customer is always right” mentality isn’t a thing everywhere).

A patch that was announced over a year before it went up, and that people who play on consoles very much did ask for. I’m not happy about it being forced on PC either, but come on, there was no malicious intent here.

And most kids already do. People have been complaining about “kids today” for literally thousands of years. Probably longer, we just don’t have records of it. There have always been troublemakers, and there always will be. People have been blaming everything from literature to TV to music to video games to, nowadays, phones. This, too, will blow over, and it’ll be fine.

And the kids that are this brazenly disrespectful and disruptive would be disrespectful and disruptive without phones too. Most kids aren’t though, no matter how much alarmist media wants them to be. It’s a good old fashioned moral panic. Punish the actual wrongdoers, leave the test of the kids alone.

As long as the phone isn’t used in class I fail to the the issue. There’s no need to ban phone use in general while on school premises.

I’m right with you on Stardew Valley. Might be because I’m a city kid but I just can’t connect with the game. I know that it’s supposed to be “cosy” but my idea of cosy is a downtown apartment, not a farm. It just doesn’t work for me.

Also, you’d need to know for certain that the planet you’re sending your generation ship to is habitable for your species. While this may be technologically trivial for a society that can build a functional generation ship, the timescales for such projects (literally hundreds or even thousands of years from the launch of the probe to the yes/no signal) makes it extremely difficult to actually organise.
