This is an official act, Biden has absolute immunity.
I would take “doesn’t know what they’re doing” over “knows what they’re doing (it is white supremacist fascism).”
It was a config file. The CrowdStrike code would already have been in the kernel for quite some time. Would you not need a previous version of the system without those kmods (or whatever they’re using)? That is unlikely.
I find they do slip by you unless you’re thinking of printers. I’m trying to remind myself in more situations. I doubt I’ll ever want an HP computer with or without the reminder but I’d like to make sure.
No third party will ever be viable until FPTP is removed. No funding will change that. Source: basically every single election.
Because of our garbage voting system, any vote not going to the top two candidates is the same as scribbling over that section of the ballot. If your goal is to not have Donald win, you want to add as many votes as you can for the other of the top two candidates.
The only way a vote for RFK would help prevent Donald is if it were coming from someone who otherwise certainly would have voted for Donald. Even then the ideal is that they vote for an opponent who has a chance of winning.
I thought it was illegal basically everywhere to have gift cards go out of date? Scumbags.
Samsung appliances or Samsung smart anything. SSDs are tolerable but I’d rather find someone else.
HP printers but they are especially bad so all HP.
Any device that requires a cloud connection, account, or specific app to work. Hard no.
I hope there is a consequence.
Change the date on all the files by scaling to fit the oldest file. Scale to 1 year as a safe maximum age. So if the oldest file is 1.5 years old, scale all files to be t/1.5 duration prior to now.
Do they have secure two-factor yet or it is still SMS?
When you lift up the red flag and there are more red flags underneath.
I liked the install process for Void. I had a live USB and there were instructions to partition, install packages, and chroot. I could tell how it was getting set up and felt like I could easily make modifications to the install process if I wanted.
I wanted to try Void but I had trouble getting it to work with encrypting the root partition, despite following some of the guides I found. If I could get that to work and from there get an atomic setup for backups, I’d probably use it on a few machines.
I like the philosophy and honestly would prefer to not have systemd or other massive dependencies. I’m part of the problem though because I am using Fedora now.
The atomicity probably counts as an interesting feature, but it does seem to be getting more popular.
Some comments yesterday were claiming the offending file was several kb of just 0s. All signs are pointing to a massive fuckup from an individual company.
That’s despicable. Popping a window up over everything enrages me even when it’s an application I intended to open. Popping up a fucking ad while I am in the middle of something is completely unacceptable. I can definitely see what that was the last straw.
Microsoft will continue ramping up the ads, nags, and dark patterns until everyone is subscribed to their own hardware.
I hope Lemmy doesn’t become overrun with reddit’s far-right psychos after reddit collapses.
