  • I use mine all the time, much easier than dealing with a nasty sink strainer as I just spray down the sink into the disposal and run it. Also keeps the trash from smelling.

If it’s being smelly under the sink, it’s broken or not installed right. If it’s being smelly from the drain hole sink side then you’re not cleaning it from time to time (Which is as easy as dropping in some cleaner and running it every other month or so).

I’m actually looking to upgrade mine so it can handle some bones

  • Android also has fantastic notification controls on a per app basis compared to iOS. I can pop into settings and disable an apps “Marketing” channel, but continue to allow it to have its “Important notifications” channel for example.

    Here’s Nextdoors notification channel settings:

I can disable any one of these channels independently, and then it goes a bit further

Tapping on a channel also allows you to set individual settings, maybe I want NDs “Announcement” notifications, but I want them to be silent, but maybe I still want them to popup on screen while I’m actively using my phone

Ofc, it’s still dependent on individual apps to implement their side properly, but when they do its amazing

  • Not if you DIY. I just finished a project, not only wiring all rooms for Ethernet, but PoE for 10 exterior cameras.

You can get 500ft Cat 5e boxes off eBay for like ~$20, an extra long 1/2 inch drill bit (for punching through the exterior wall) was like another 20. Most expensive part was probably the metal conduit for the outside runs (I decided to only have 2 or 3 holes to the outside and run the cables in the conduit along the soffit to converge to one of 3 exterior holes for final routing within the house. That was probably 150-250)

All in all after estimating for secondary costs, like screws, brackets, sealant, a caulk gun, ceiling bracket for ceiling routing indoors etc this project was probably <400, pretty cheap as far as home improvement projects go

  • That’s all understandable, for a startup or young company. But this is Sony a multi-billion dollar electronics company with many MANY released devices and software projects under its belt.

If they had taken things seriously, invested the proper funding and pulled the appropriate personnel they would have no problems getting something out that can beat RPCS3 in a year tops.

They tried to just slap something together as (what someone around here commented a while back) a minimum value add product and shove it out the door. Any claims of “It’s just too hard” they try to make is nothing but cover AFAIC now that people are starting to call them out on it

Nah, that’s still a bunch of bull, they designed it and have all the documentation. They know all of its functionality, hidden or otherwise, it’s “undocumented” functions, it’s quirk’s, the very ins and outs of it. They probably still have original designers on staff. They have far more knowledge and experience of their own design than any game developers.

And yet RPCS3, an open source PS3 emulator based on reverse engineered research is able to achieve decent playability on most games.

Not to mention, they’re a multi-billion dollar company, don’t make excuses for them.

  • Is not a cure-all by any means, they have their own problems

Did you know that a bank is specifically forbidden from taking money from a checking or savings accounts to satisfy a payment owed without your express authorization if you also have a loan/credit card through the same bank?

Did you also know that CUs are exempted from that consumer protection regulation? That’s right and many of them exercise their ability, I learned this the hard way, when MF’in NFCU ripped a 300$ payment out of my account that was 2 or 3 weeks late on an unsecured loan (it wasnt even a couple months) and screwed over my ability to make my rent that month.

They also have the DUMBEST online account security practices. “We can’t have you set your own username for “security” so you’ll have to wait for us to mail you a letter with a user ID on it, oh and to log in for the first time you’ll have to wait another week for us to also mail you a new account pin”

CUs might be a tad better than banks, but they are NO savior.
