I like to picture my Jesus as a desert hippie that people liked and told tall tales of in order to give people living in that harsh environment some hope and meaning.
If you purchase music you never have to hear a commercial again. I have 2100+ songs on most of my devices via CD rips, Bandcamp, etc. I also have about 550 albums on vinyl and I’m slowly starting digitizing those.
‘kimcheese’ fries are great. French fries + med/sharp cheddar (merkts is common here) + Kimchi = 🫠
Kimchi Aioli is fantastic for sandwiches and fries

Arch makes me feel like a fly on a turtle’s back soaring through the cosmos
I live in a major city so I have many choices, but realistically it works for any nearby city with hip smaller bands that you like. Not everything is great but it’s pretty easy to dial in your tastes by venue and labels. If you aren’t getting enough to check with that, just add another city’s venues. See who’s playing & check them out on bandcamp/youtube/etc…then go see them live. Lee’s Place is dope, I caught several shows there when I contracting, but that was 7-8 years ago
Sign up for email lists to smaller venues (<1000 capacity) and check out the bands getting booked. Also, sign up for record label mailings, indie labels tend to have bands with similar vibes. Spotify and algorithm recs are not the way to go
Absolutely agree on Hazbin; all style no substance. I think the writing is where the South Park guys have always excelled, even with Hannibal. They are juvenile at face value, but the stories tends to dig into something deeper. I feel like Hazbin and South Park are quite opposite when it comes to style & substance.
Walter is always wrong if you’ve ever watched the movie! lmao!!
to be fair, I am pretty stupid
I think the big one is the goal or pursuit of the music. VG music is background music there to lend to the game. Most other music does not have that as the reason for its creation, and may be distracting in a game.
I also think that the storage and tech that drove the sound VG is not that far in the past. Wouldn’t it just make sense to just lay into what’s been working and expand on? We are conditioned by certain sounds and there are expectations when we are in certain environments. IMO, VG music to me is sonically distilled dopamine that works best as a supporting role to the task at hand.
Can you make it stop raining as well?
Not a specific album, but 90% of King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard’s releases. They always sound intriguing at first but end up being mediocre.
