Yes it is worth it. The return on gameplay hours for the cost of a game can be incredibly high.
I recommend you start by downloading Steam on a laptop or PC and browse some games, or try some demos. Some games require mouse and keyboard, while others are better with a controller - my preference is a regular Xbox controller, it’s plug and play.
The older Pokemon gameboy games (using emulator).
The Room series - puzzle/mystery style.
And they’ve got the theme song for Two and a Half Men playing in their heads at all times
Nope. That’s a new name to me. Where should I start?
Not as much of a metal head as I used to be, but these recent albums made me feel some of the magic of it again:
It’s not every day that a comment makes me self-reflect and challenge my beliefs like this.
Thank you for opening my mind, Buglefingers. I’ve got a lot of thinking to do.
Sort of, yeah. If you asked me to categorize foods as “bread-like” or not, I would definitely count cake. But I would probably not make a sandwich with cake.
Favourite genre: psychological thriller
Favourite movie: Freddy Got Fingered
I’ve worked somewhere that they laid of some of the best employees in the department, simply because they were higher seniority and “made too much money” and had to cut costs. There were plenty of better candidates to let go, if the focus had been productivity, but it wasn’t. They just wanted a short-term solution to balance the books.
So a month and so later, I’m still searching and I just feel bitter and jaded, I’m not getting calls back.
The past few months I have put in some applications for jobs I am qualified or slightly over-qualified for, and same thing - 0 calls back. Best I’ve had is a rare rejection email.
I know what you are talking about, but I try not to think about it too much. First of all, you have no way of knowing for sure that they are being passive aggressive, or just trying to be polite but coming off awkwardly. I hate when people make assumptions on how I must be feeling, so I try not to make assumptions about them. Maybe they got some bad news that day, are struggling with something I’m unaware of, etc.
If I do detect some sort of aggression, I just try to complete my part of the transaction as quickly as possible and be on my way. Maybe they are irritated, but I don’t need to hang around to find out, and digging into it isn’t going to help either of us.
Depends on a few things. If someone took the time to reply to my comment or post, they get an upvote as long as they’re not being a jerk, even if they disagree with me.
If it’s a post or comment in a post in a smaller community I upvote to show appreciation for their participation.
Funny / clever comments get an upvote.
I only downvote if they’re being a jerk. Disagreement does not warrant a downvote from me, if they are being civil about it.
As for tipping culture being built in to Lemmy, or in general, hell no - downvote for even mentioning that. /s
I don’t have a way to share a picture of it, but my >6 year old phone has plenty of burn-in. The keyboard, a hamburger menu, a back arrow, are all clearly visible when the screen is bright/mostly white. It’s an S9+, in case that is helpful info.
Not really a saying, but when I was a kid I wanted to learn how to whistle so badly. I was told that if I ate pickles it would help me learn faster? I didn’t eat any, and I still figured it out eventually.
Macaroni because I’m hollow inside, and unlike penne, have no point
Miellenial, right in the middle
This seems to have worked, got my desktop back. I did fsck on something like /dev/sda9 then answered yes to fix a bunch of things. Thanks for your help.
Possibly - the laptop battery died and the first thing when turning it on was to set system time in BIOS. But it’s not the first time doing that, just the first time it didn’t boot afterwards.
Blade of Darkness looks up my alley
