My concern is that Faraday cages have limitations and you should think about mitigations

I’d add you can get around this with a custom DNS server with DNSSEC
So only thing is they might just store all the data locally and send it when they get reception again. Microsoft Word used to do this with “Aria”
Dell gaming laptops are decent for the price and might get a discount if you have the preinstall Ubuntu (since you’re not buying Windows)
The UX is nice and modern, better than iMessage and other messaging apps I’ve used. Scheduling messages, group chats allow people to come and go (mod approved) all seem more modern than other chat apps
Totally agree, but what about normies who don’t know much or have a friend to help? Cyber security is such a deep well that even a professional doesn’t know everything
Maybe it’s becoming more like medicine, where everyone needs to know the basics but have professionals for guidance?
Totally, difficult but by no means impossible. I think we should be cautious and have less hubris when it comes to computer security, that was my point
To add to the other security conscious comments, even if you wanted to run a VM, there are attacks that escalpe the VM and hit the underlining OS
Computers are inherently insecure
This sounds fun
You could use a password manager or somewhere safe to store the secret, then just point to that reference. Storing sensitive secrets/passwords/etc in a safe way is still up for debate imo
Yeah this sounds like a bad idea, git isn’t encrypted
Right? At least they’re open about it
I follow all traffic laws to a tee, just to be the change I want to see in the world. Pedestrian deaths (negligent manslaughter IMO) by cars are at an all time high in my country. As a bonus, I usually end up right next to the asshole speeding and weaving in and out of traffic at the red light
Could you have seen anything beforehand? You’re a kilometer away already
Nice, free custom domains are unheard of
Nice, sounds like it’s getting modernized. I’ll have to give it another round, thanks!
Haven’t used it much, but looks promising:
20 euros and patience for other people
