I owe my IT career to my parents trying to restrict my access with parental controls. I learned a lot figuring out how to circumvent those things and cover my tracks.

Yes, people say mean things on the internet. That’s never going away. Teach your children how to deal with it.
I saw my retired grandparents buy property in the country and spend all day working on their garden and continuously making improvements to their home and doing other projects that interested them. In the summer they traveled the country and camped. If you spend your retirement wasting away in front of the TV that’s on you for not finding some hobbies.
That probably wouldn’t have been too far off.
They banned me for giving my opinion on how child molesters should be punished and then permabanned me for doing it again when I got back. Funny thing is people say the exact same kind of shit about all kinds of other people and those comments are fine… weird how they only care to protect people who molest children.
I used to work at a auto shop and one time a lady came in wanting an estimate to replace the majority of the exhaust on her car. We didn’t do exhaust work so the only way for me to price that out for her was to go based off the purchase of all the components from the parts shop which would have been way more expensive than a shop that actually does exhaust work. I told her as such and then she insisted that I price it out anyway which took forever because I had to find a diagram of her cars exhaust and cross reference all the parts with the parts shop website and then the entire time she’s bitching at me about how long this is taking. I continued to explain that going to an exhaust shop would be cheaper and she continued to insist. When I handed her the estimate she glanced at it, laughed in my face, and stormed out. That shit happened almost 2 decades ago and it still pops into my head frequently.
I didn’t know Frieza had a lemmy account.
You just toss it when the battery dies and get a new one.
So funny story. My stove is currently inoperable because the door lock on the oven is fucked up somehow. Why an oven needs a door lock and why the door lock being fucked should prevent the whole thing from working I cannot tell you. I’ve literally never used it. Thanks whoever programmed that…
nobody look at my downloads folder. It’s fine. I promise.
The hospital I worked for had workstations with localized backups of the medical record system that they would use in the event of an outage. They could print from them but it wasn’t like they were printing out every single thing ahead of time. They could run on generator power and still access records without network access but if those PCs had been taken down by this issue I could see that turning into a big problem. I talked to someone that’s still there and he said they didn’t have many issues due to crowdstrike though.
I mean, it’s unlikely anything of value has been posted to reddit in the last week anyway. Or like the last 2 years.
Yeah, actually acquiring them is pretty critical to the whole idea.
You can throw some chia seeds in the oats to add to it. Doesn’t change the taste or anything.
I thought it was about the 3-4 different unskippable animations it plays before you get to the main menu

Yeah. I stopped pirating for like 3 years because of Netflix having enough content to occupy me (and I had a he’ll of a lot more time on my hands then than I do now). Now Netflix doesn’t have shit and everything is spread over a ton of services. I can either constantly be changing subscriptions around or pay like 7$ a month for a VPN and have everything… Hmmm, tough choice.
