Sucking my best friend’s dick. I’m sorry, but if my friend is having a bad day, giving him a bro-job is not gay.
@The_Picard_Maneuver@lemmy.world has been a constant presence who seemingly posts at all hours of the day, probably the biggest Lemmy “celebrity” that I can think of.
From my cold, dead, lubricated hands!
Compared to the actual Humble Bundles, the games were usually lackluster and if there’s not some good deal, I’m just not going for it. Same with the sales really, so what if it’s a 20/30/40% discount, if I’m not getting a pile of games I’ll never have time to play, I’m just not interested.
I’ll still vote for her, even though I’ve thought she’s been an ineffectual VP and was just a bad presidential candidate in 2020. During the 2020 Dem primary debates she basically got shutdown by Tulsi Gabbard and never really recovered from that, up until Biden picked her as VP. Her previous record would probably make her a liability amongst liberals, but there’s not much choice now. She doesn’t seem to have much charisma or inspire much enthusiasm. She’s not old though, so that’s a plus in her favor. Being a black woman is sure to excite elements of the party that would find that important, as it would be another historic first for the country if she were elected. I’d just be happy to avert fascism with whomever.
I wanted to like Google, I bought into the whole ecosystem and still regularly use my gmail account, but they’ve fallen quite far in my eyes. They’ve killed off multiple features I used extensively, Search, the thing they should be good at, just isn’t as dependable as it used to be, I don’t trust using Chrome anymore, and the company overall just seems like a pale reflection of its former self. I just don’t trust them as a company. Not as bad as Meta or anything Musk touches, but still bad.
“ChatGPT, what does food taste like?”
No Pete Buttigieg? Probably just as corporate as the other ones, but seems like he’d make a semi-decent pick.
I see it as a challenge, what’s the most I can do in the game, not paying for anything? It gets annoying with some the arbitrary restrictions they put up though, meant to slow your progress and just make the whole experience suck. The incentives seems to be, “Buy this pass and you’ll blaze through these boring parts!” But the “benefits” are just based on bypassing some digital numbers that they’ve purposely made as annoying as possible. They made it slow just by tweaking a number in some code, they could just as easily dial it to another number, but likely it’s at the optimal number for whales to start paying money. It all feels very predatory.
Depends on how hard performing tasks are. Can I punch trees to get wood, it doesn’t hurt like hell and doesn’t break my fists? Can I dig through the earth quickly with just my bare hands? Can I construct a dwelling relatively easily? If yes, then I think I’d be ok after getting over the initial shock of “WTF?”
If we’re talking real world physics, then I’m probably dead the first night.
That seems like that should be quite an achievement in Australia. Getting banned from one place might be an unfortunate evening where you drank a little too much. Getting banned from every place in a state is fucking God-tier levels of drunken debauchery.
+1 for Bitwarden. My Dad’s password manager actually made taking care of him in the last years of his life alot easier. I essentially had to “wind down” his life (pay bills/debts, close accounts, stop subscriptions, etc), and as his memory was going it would’ve been impossible to get that information from him. With myself too though I’ve got so many dumb accounts all over the place, having a password manager is the only thing keeping me sane half the time when having to log in to everything to pay bills and such.
I think most people who come into money probably say the same thing, but I think it probably depends on a few factors, sociability and impulsivity probably being up there. I think as your standard of living rises, it’s just going to change most people who aren’t well-grounded. Some people blow it all at once, wanting the money to change them because they weren’t happy with their life before, others change over time, but both are changed just from the experience of not having to deal with the anxiety of “survival” anymore.
When you’re not worried about making your rent/mortgage or getting all your bills paid each month, that’s just naturally going to free you up to think about other things. When barriers to life dissolve away like that, you stop having reasons to not do things what you feel like doing. “I’ve always wanted to see London/France/underpants, I should just do it,” or “I could get a nice entertainment system in the living room… and my bedroom… and the bathroom…” At some point, your standard of living is so far removed from “normal” people, that “it” has already happened, money changed you.
I’ve gotten into one of those games over the past few months for the first time and I’m still not even sure why. It’s so transparent what they’re doing, trying to milk users for money with artificially ridiculous drop rates for characters and gear, and just constant grinding to get anything. I’ve stayed F2P the whole time, but it’s kinda aggravating seeing stuff essentially locked behind a paywall. And the prices are absolutely ridiculous, I can’t imagine what kind of idiots would actually buy anything at their arbitrarily inflated rates for fake, digital crap. Yet I keep playing.
It’s kind of insane the amount of work people will do for free, just for the hell of it. I mean, just thinking of my own small world of tabletop RPG gaming and the number of people GMing and writing up stuff that they just give out for free is kind of heartwarming. It’s this weird drive to create and make storytelling worlds that other people can get lost in. I’ve worked on projects like that before and put shit tons of time and effort into them, not even considering that anybody might ever want to give me money for them (though likely it probably wouldn’t even be legal in this case without working directly with Bethesda and getting into licensing and such). Sometimes it’s just fulfilling to get lost working on a project that you love.
It’d be a toss-up at that point, depending on who they put up before the election. Maybe Nikki Haley could actually win again Biden? The other non-candidates that ran during the primaries don’t seem like they’d fare well. That’d be hilarious if the party most opposed to women’s rights were to get the first female president in office. Losing Trump would be a speedbump for Conservatives though, they’re moving towards trying to take America down the road of a theocracy, I’m not sure that losing Trump would really stop that, they’re pretty much committed to making it happen at some point.
About the only time our TV gets turned on anymore is for 1) videogames or 2) watching youtube.
It’s mostly just a giant monitor at this point
That’s how we’re still using my Dad’s account, it’s mostly used by my brother, but shared with the other gamers in the family
That must be why I have no idea what any of this is about. In the ~20 years I’ve used Steam, I almost never frequent the forums or use guides unless I have a game-stopping problem.
