So, for me, 90 percent of the time this function would be firmly set to “off”.
I bought a car that has heated seats and a heated steering wheel that I’ve never used, and being in Australia will probably never use. It did not detract from the rest of the cars functionality including its main purpose which is to get me from A to B.
I suspect the optional functionality of this hardware button will be similar.
It’s a tag, that works well as a tag.
Also, you can use it as a remote shutter should you wish to place your phone somewhere and take the photo from somewhere else - like standing in front of a famous landmark, or wanting to be in a group photo instead of being behind the camera.
Seems like a no brainer bit of useful add-on functionality to supplement its primary usage.
Isn’t that what you do with Bitcoin?
I pay for non popular things - bands that aren’t well known, YouTube creators who haven’t started doing those stupid “MUNDANE TASK 😱 GOES WRONG!” thumbnails yet, games or software that are free to download but hey maybe some money would be cool if you could, independent news and radio, etc.
Once something is popular I’ll just thieve it. Artists are creators deserve to get paid for their work, but once they start getting paid dozens of times over for no extra effort it’s hard to feel too bad about borrowing a free copy.

Classic Apple user, IMO
I don’t think people are “refusing”
I know a few people who have no reason NOT to learn to drive, but just don’t and instead mooch off everyone else.
My folks had a falling out with a couple they’d been friends with for ages because they refused to get their licence… But then expected them to come and pick them up from the train station when they were invited to dinner, spent most of the night telling everyone how smart they are for not having a car, and then expecting a lift back to the train station. Having just spent a couple of hours banging on about how much financially better off they were, I saw it as essentially stealing to then demand someone else use their asset and running costs to carry them around for free.
My sister in law finally got her licence at 30-something after a couple of decades constantly harassing family members for a ride.
Subsonic (https://www.subsonic.org/) hasn’t been updated in years, but it still works perfectly for me. I’m mostly on Youtube Music these days just for the size of the library, but for stuff I have that YTM doesnt I still fall back to Subsonic that’s running on my HTPC.
Lamington Day
Cause Lemmyington.
This probably works better with a New Zealand accent… which I don’t have, but like to imitate when I’m drunk.
“Choice bro, put your jandals in the chilly bin” - me, doing champagne comedy sketches
That’s paid though, right? I don’t use Word, and if I wanted to I’d need to buy it. Firefox is free and accessible to everyone.
How do you use Xitter for porn??
Then I guess for security reasons you won’t be signing up.
“Hopefully I’ll do better next time”
A cargo ship is probably more energy efficient than an American pickup lol
Sucked in, frankly.
I had that phone, and I loved it. I’ve probably still got it in the cupboard somewhere, along with the original Note.
The mix of physical buttons and touch screen is something I really miss.
Dudes need to knock a few zeros off the end of their currency, damn.
How is disabling (or deleting) an account going to help?
I found it easy to stop participating on Reddit. Every time I went to post I was reminded that all I’m doing is adding value to some piece of shit shareholder who actively wants me gone because I don’t mindlessly scroll the front page (old.reddit and adblock). Why do anything on there when it’s just to make someone else rich?
And Reddit made it easy for me to not even look when I’m on mobile by killing third party apps. If I can’t RiF then I choose no Reddit at all.
I get wanting to delete old accounts
They didn’t ask that (which, btw, is under settings -> delete account), they asked to disable it.
At the risk of sounding like a Facebook group, this isn’t an airport… you don’t need to announce departure. Just leave. Voila. Done.
We’re gonna end up with a Blink monopoly, aren’t we?
