Look, this is gonna sound rude and maybe it is, but I am not a fucking moron and I know that’s how it works. I specifically stated that I have used linux in the past, and I can easily google any specific game and find out if it does or doesn’t work.

I was asking what distro is best for people to give current opinions on the subject, not because I cannot google very basic cut and dry info. I appreciate that you are trying to help but I am not about to sit here for hours typing the name of every game I might be interested in playing, so that someone else can read it and check it for me, were you about to spend your entire night checking games I listed for me? Of course you weren’t, and the entire idea of either of us doing that is insane.

Yeah, I’ve tried, and it doesn’t help. Also that does nothing for the fact that they are going to stop supporting Win10 sooner than later, and since my computer won’t run Win11 that means losing all security. Not to mention the microsoft using my data for nefarious reasons, constantly adding new bloatware garbage, and harvesting my data to use to train their AI.

I am done with windows, I am done with microsoft, and why am I having to explain my reasons and motivations for this in the Linux lemmy of all places? Do you work for microsoft or something???

Actually it’s more of a George Lucas is terrible at dialogue situation, the operative word in the sentence is “deals”.

He wasn’t saying “Only a Sith recognizes absolutes”, he was saying they only “deal” in them as in they refuse to compromise or recognize nuance. To a Sith anyone that isn’t currently aiding you is your enemy, if they aren’t your ally they are to be destroyed. It’s not that he was trying to say there are no absolutes, he’s saying that there are other options in this situation, and that by viewing Obi-Wan as an enemy because he opposes Palpatine he is “dealing in absolutes” as in he is making this a life-or-death situation when it doesn’t need to be.

It was never meant to be a philosophical statement, it’s just a very awkward way of saying “Anakin we can work this out and compromise, you and Sidious are only acting like this because of the Dark Side”. Unfortunately this bit of dialogue was written by the same person that thought “I’m haunted by the kiss that you should never have given me. My heart is beating…hoping that kiss will not become a scar” was romantic and thoughtful, instead of the type of thing an emo teenager would write in their diary.

If you want to see what George Lucas is capable of without someone there to fix his weird choices, go look up the “Adventures of Luke Starkiller, as taken from the Journal of the Whills, Saga I: The Star Wars” screenplay, the untouched version of Star Wars that he originally thought up, there are even comic book adaptations out there. If you are brave enough to read it, you will very quickly see that George needs someone else to proofread his work and ESPECIALLY his dialogue, because the entire thing is a mess and practically every other line out of someones mouth sounds like a grand philosophical statement because of the phrasing he uses to give it more gravitas.

TL;DR - George Lucas uses weird phrasing and should never be allowed to write dialogue.

You know I heard S2 was bad, so I didn’t watch it when it came out but planned on eventually giving it a chance, but this thread and specifically this post just convinced me to never watch it and just keep the memory of Westworld being good in my head lol.

They also had a crypto miner put into their dying game SMNC during one of its last patches, you could mine crypto from them to get keys for lootboxes to get hats in SMNC.

I mentioned this in another comment, but they’ve renamed themselves TWICE to try and dodge their shady reputation from ruining Super Monday Night Combat and the Planetary Annihilation fiasco.

2 - Apologizing and promising to update the game soon, and abandoning it to work on PA, which had a day 1 price of $90 on Early Access (because it wouldn’t be fair to the kickstart backers)!
