  • You might want to read book and book, the latter being seminal in soft skills.

As an omnivert I can tell you just accept that some people won’t like you. Sometimes that can be a lot of people. Just remain calm and don’t take it personal, that’s important for your self respect but also because other people will treat you much better.

Leave the problems where they are. Some people like to take their frustrations out on a by them perceived to be lower status member of a group, and there’s various ways of dealing with that. A good start is to simply ignore it. The truth is that a lot of people kick down instead of look up, and you are free to judge them for that. If you are sure what you did was right, then stand by it.

There’s so much more I can say but you’ll want to start there in my opinion.

  • I’m what’s called demisexual. Essentially I am mostly aroace unless I have a certain kind of emotional bond. That can happen pretty quickly, but it can also take years depending on the circumstances.

Unfortunately that doesn’t work well in today’s society that’s focused on instant gratification.

Like, if you aren’t all over someone within x hours somehow that’s considered to be a rejection. And if you ever show any interest in getting to know someone they immediately assume you want to bang them that evening.

    Please!

  • Meditations by Marcus Aurelius might help. It’s a bit hard to judge without knowing more about your situation.

You could also look into mindfulness. When I feel rushed by my internal monkey drive and I am tired of it, I just slow down. More and more, gradually. If it doesn’t go away I’ll simply stop what I am doing. I’ll just sit down on a chair lol. Trust me that drive will die down and that will give you space to live. Just want to do my darn dishes in peace!

  • Whatsapp is difficult for me to avoid, but I’ve been pulling it off for years now.

Honestly here in the NL it’s almost as if people see it as some sort of government institution. We have neighborhood watches on there and they openly display the logo as a form of security measure. Honestly it’s kinda creepy that that kinda stuff flows through their opaque servers and software.

I’d prefer an open and distributed protocol, with the largest node being government run. You can’t avoid such large nodes, so it’s better if they are run by a centralized democratic system. Aka @gmail.com, Lemmy.ml, mastadon.social (did I get that right?)
