They’re releasing now to get more people to beta test the game. It’s being on Game Pass Day One shows that intention. I’ll prolly install it to see how it performs on my PC.
From reading through a few, it sounds like while the simulation has improved, it has usability/polish problems (and comparing it to a heavily updated game)
As usual, it sounds like it could have done with another few months of development.
I have little to no doubt that it will be updated. As far as I’m concerned though, this release is basically “early access”. It’s definitely not done yet.
Not that I necessarily disapprove of it being released before done! Modders need to get their hands on it as soon as they can so that can start doing their magic, and I have zero doubts that it will be completed soon enough. It’s a little rough around the edges now and needs some cleanup, but it’ll get there, and the new foundations and systems are worth it in my estimation. If for nothing else than parking being in the core simulation, given how huge an impact parking has on IRL cities…
What’s wrong with it? It seems like an improvement to CS1. I have seen any launch gameplay yet
Poor performance.
Some streamers have had access to the game for what seems like a few weeks now but I haven’t heard of any complaints from them.
For regular users with modest PCs, the game doesn’t run well.
Its probably why the console versions dont even have a release date yet, afaik

Mods may fix a lot in the first few weeks though.
