I’m sorry, but if it is life in prison or giving up the names of your dealers (not necessarily friends), I don’t think many of us would’ve chosen differently.
The statement about republicans in Hollywood is way over the line though. I scanned through his wiki page and it says that he condemned the Jan 6th attacks and was generally not impressed with how different republicans behave - so it seems there is at least some light.
