So this is like an adblocker for irrelevant ingame stuff? Or is it a hack that disadvantages other players?
I was of the impression that the ia doesn’t delete, but instead puts files in quarantine until copyright runs out. Else they’d have to digitize it again later.
What a shame
To be honest, i read about it a long time ago, but haven’t used the software, just liked the concept because it’s so seductively simple: random anonymous device, no internet connection, no isp, no trouble. Perfect deniability.
Only lower level: switching drives 😂
No internet, just local wifi network. Pirateboxes aren’t meshed.
Strangers can connect to your piratebox and download whatever files (not neccessarily pirated) you put on it. Movies, music, books etc.
A piratebox has no internet connection and in order to browse it one has to connect directly to it’s network.
Think about your favourite bar or your toilet at work having a network with no internet access, that let’s you browse fresh warez every time you visit.
I think you can even grant upload rights and make it a public dead mailbox for warez.
War is peace. Freedom is slavery. Ignorance is strength.
Let me pinshit about “adhoc”, a latin word which most people think of as meaning something like “spontaneous”. That’s wrong! Ad (to) hoc (this) means “in this regard”. If someone asks you a specific question, you could answer “adhoc i have no idea” or “i don’t know anything adhoc”. There’s no such thing as “adhoc work”.
It’s about delisting from stockexchange, not about proprietization of source code.
Youtube’s quality isn’t as bad as it’s used to be, in fact you can get pretty high quality aac and opus streams given that the upload had legit quality and your using legit software to download and not some shitty webapp.
From the YouTube Help section on “Encoding specifications for music videos”:
Although it is not recommended, YouTube accepts compressed audio. YouTube transcodes from the delivered format; audio quality is much better when transcoded from a lossless format compared to re-compressing a lossy audio format.
If you must deliver compressed audio, use these specifications:
Codec: AAC-LC
Sample Rate: 44.1Khz
Bit Rate: 320kbps or higher for 2 channels (higher is always better; 256 kbps acceptable)
Channels: 2 (stereo)
I won’ rant over youtube’s inferior sound quality, but please tag or mark your finished files as youtube sourced, at least if there’s any possibility you further share them.
Best tipp i ever got in this regard was putting a cup of crushed charcoal in the fridge. Absorbs odors for years.
I guess foobar2000 is non-foss as it’s free but not open source.
It’s still a godsend for large comic book archives. Thx comicrack for supporting this wicked new format since August 2013!
edit: there’s also a relatively new plugin for avif and jpegxl support.
Well, there was and still is 4chan. You can say anything over there, it’s a place full of freedom and rainbows.
Not an Expert in consumer hdr. What you want to calibrate isn’t contrast or brightness but gamma curve.
