I feel like with lemmy and how differently the instances are from eachother, it’s probably better to look around an instance and decide if it’s right for you before you join. I feel a lot of people go into any then get shocked when they inevitably break a rule and get banned.

the great migration to another investor-backed patiently waiting disaster. enjoy it while it’s good. if only they used activitypub. Mastodon is just too confusing for the average person, it will never take off. bluesky streamlines everything into being simple and understandable to the average user. I laugh when I see people circle jerking about being better than twitter when in reality it was started by the same people and all it takes is someone with too much money and it’ll be another fall-off story.

edit: I say this as someone who uses it, beats using shitter in it’s festering decaying state.

finally going back and playing dark souls remastered as someone who has only played demon’s souls. so far it feels very familiar yet different. definitely has that from software jankyness.

The only thing I honestly don’t hate from them is YouTube, which I still use often. But I hate how they treat it now, so they lose points there. And Gboard too, but they seem to have abandoned updating it sadly.

I wish lol… I’d love to go somewhere not often considered. maybe Bulgaria or Kyrgyzstan. would be cool to see real world life there.

when a wildfire took down my internet last month I sure didn’t regret hoarding. I had plenty of unseen entertainment at my disposal, watched a bunch of new shows. when it did come back I decided not only to keep hoarding anything interesting to me, but to invest in a new backup drive to keep the hoard safe lol.

I don’t think porn is a good thing, but the fact that even if you’re an adult with a pass you are limited is pretty bizarre. this is on top of the fact that you are already giving up your privacy to view it.

I used to love them. Really I did. Under iwata the company was truly something special for a while. But as with all companies, the fall from grace has been hard. I don’t know a single person with a good opinion of Nintendo anymore. Even a surprising amount of irl people who are not in the know about a lot of piracy and modding stuff seem to at least know enough from recent events that Nintendo are beyond irreparably evil.
