I get targeted ads based on IP location… for different regions of my country.
HR: IT detected that you watch porn at work.
Employee: I’m not, it’s all SFW videos
HR: OK, no problem then.
It has been a lot since I needed to download Wikipedia, it is very easy, AFAIK there is Wikimedia with backups of all wiki sites.
The weird file sizes are just a compressed file format, sql and XML. Maybe it is a bit more complex run Wikipedia locally, but the content information is easy to retrieve.
The only issue is that sql and xml are plain text files, and plain text compresses very well, so a 30GB backup can become easily 100GB uncompressed.
Apart from the basic learning at the beginning when I didn’t knew anything it is helpful to grasp some basic things and see if I wanted to invest more time and resources.
Now my current method to learn is with proper classes and use Anki to solidify the material I’ve been taught.
Duolingo’s only purpose right now is to learn some new vocabulary and to not lose practice, the friend streaks, and the friend quest is what even in the days that I’m totally unmotivated forces me to not abandon practicing.
I would love to move elsewhere but I’ll lost the only thing that helps me to keep on focus.
As other mentioned, lack of physical buttons.
Minimalistic interfaces in software:
Apps and websites copying the designs/colour scheme of popular ones. How many Slack looking websites are too much?
Copying IKEA furniture design, I don’t like most of IKEA designs and the sensation of making your personal space identical to thousands of other people personal spaces. I don’t have an issue with IKEA itself, my issue is that you try to find alternatives looking elsewhere and is the same thing, sometimes inspired, sometimes a clear copy, and most of the time even worse quality.
I’ve been looking for a wall shelf for almost a year and it seemed that every company, every store had the same ugly designs varying a little and with different prices. I’ve just bought one that it was the less ugly I could find, it was expensive and the materials quality is crap.
Carlos Sobera, a really great TV host in Spain, with the boom of sport betting websites and almost no regulations on the ads, he became the face of one of those websites with very aggressive tactics.
He also started to appear on ads for a payday loan company.
So he was promoting gambling and high interest small loans that are used by gambling adicts.
The radio alarm clock, couldn’t find the specific year only to narrow towards the late 70s.
My flat, the building was built around the beginning of the 70s.
Just checked Coccodrilo, seems a nice place.
Thanks
Thanks ☺️
Mmmm, I’ll try to go with enough cash and contact my bank regarding fees when getting cash there.
A lot of people have already recommended to try Döner, it seems very different to the one we have here. The Döner seems too far away, but I’ll take it into account just in case.
Just checked the Technikmuseum, added to the plan for sure.
I’m a bit into mechanical keyboards, I’ll try to check the store.
Thank you.
I’m noting down the restaurants.
And thanks for the advice.
You can have them, just click accept all on the cookie pop up.
There are guardrails in place to avoid providing the user illegal and hateful information to the en user and specially to avoid situations like that (well not all companies do, but you can expect Google to have it in place),
I wonder: 1- How did the LLM hallucinate so much to generate that answer out of the blues given the previous context. 2- Why did the guardrails failed blocking this such obvious undesired output.
This, when I decided to join Mastodon I was prompted to choose a server and had to research which one should join and understand how it works.
It is called UX friction and is well studied in sign up and checkout processes, the more steps the user has to perform the more likely it abandons it.
Why a game from EA needs early access? I see it more suited for small studios that cannot afford so much QA and need a revenue stream to continue the development.
