Legos? In this economy?
Legos? In this economy?
Only if Sino on reddit was as well. Which I thought was when I first came across it.
When people often text me or call to make sure plans are still on, it has the weird effect of making me no longer want to go. I’m introverted, but if I make plans I will be there. So it sort of opens the door for me to cancel for some reason.
I’ve since learned it is a fairly common one. But we got a lot of laughs out of it with him. Just out of the blue when he’d come to his desk someone would break out singing it.
Not me personally, but I worked with a guy that always thought Secret Agent Man was Secret Asian Man.
Hellblade Senua’s Sacrifice. Played it with headphones as many suggested. I had recently lost my uncle, who by the time he died, was in a pretty bad state mentally. Seeing and hearing things that weren’t there. Everyone out to get him. Calling to say the cops were trying to break into his home. No one was there.
He was a good guy and incredibly funny. Introduced me to the greatness of Monty Python at a young age. He was getting some better help near the end, finally. In part because he finally was accepting help.
He was a Vietnam vet, and from what everyone told me came back changed like so many did. This, in part, led to drug use that spiraled him down. Much better handled than some as he always held a job and such.
But the game made me think of what he might have been experiencing, and it was overwhelming for me. I think I stopped a third of the way through. It is very well done, but I just couldn’t deal with it.
He himself admitted he was an abuser of people in his life. Both male and female. Sure, people see that as him atoning for those past abuses. But it is clear he wasn’t this nice person people think of when they think of his anti-war and peace stance in life.
I loved it, and I’ve watched it several times. I just enjoy fun popcorn action movies these days, though, so I tend to be more a fan of this type of movie than most. I loved the cast and the chemistry they had and wanted to see a sequel.
Yeah, it seems like they went on that buying spree to make themselves more attractive to sell.
One night, I stumbled on a website posting the thoughts and words of Joseph Duncan, who killed a family in northern Idaho. As well as others in other states. He was on death row and wasn’t allowed internet access, but he was getting his words out there, and someone was posting for him.
He went into many details of what led to those Idaho murders. Things that were never mentioned in the press. How he came to be there and very intimate details of that night and things that happened after. It was not easy to read, but I had this weird sense of obligation to continue once I started. Like I would be doing the family a disservice if I didn’t read what they had gone through that night. Sounds weird, I know. There are certain scenes of it that I’ll never get out of my head.
When he was caught with the lone survivor, he had kidnapped (kidnapped two but killed the boy not long after), I was just down the street at a different restaurant. I had just moved to the area when the murders happened.
He also went into detail about him taking and killing a boy in southern California, which was near where I grew up.
I don’t remember the website name, and I imagine it is gone now since he died of cancer in 2020.
Curious how that customer reacted. Hopefully well.
I used to get Domino’s delivered to me years back. Often in the winter with snow on the ground and it is near zero. I always put my porch light on and waited near the door. The app showed me they were close, so why wouldn’t I? I can’t believe how many drivers thanked me for just doing these things. Many told me they’d often wait 5 minutes after knocking or ringing the doorbell. Like WTF? You know your order is coming.
This is how I’ve used mine almost 100% of the time. I got it because a gaming laptop I had was getting a bit old. I use the Deck like I used that laptop. Moving from room to room as needed and hooked up to a TV in each.
I’m stuck in bed some days, so having something that is easily moved like the Switch has been great.
Not video game related, but I was teased a lot growing up because I was always the shortest kid. This one guy would constantly call me an Oompa Loompa. His problem though, I had never seen the movie, so I never had a clue why he was calling me that. Because of that, it never bothered me and that would frustrate him quite a bit. Eventually he just gave up.
It was actually what finally got me to not take any of the teasing seriously and what showed me ignoring it all was the easiest way to deal with it and get it to stop.
We know she is pink because we have faith.
I’m with this. Unless it is about work, let people believe what they want. Or else you end up discussing a lot of stuff like religion and politics in a place it doesn’t need to be.
I’m a fan of the word Cunt as a term of endearment after having a few online friends from Australia over the years. Shame you can’t really use it much in the states in such a way.
Not who you asked, but I find myself turning it off more often than not. I just never see it as adding much to my experience. I tend to notice it more as annoyance more than anything else.
