Im glad you pointed out the algorithm thing. Seems like people get fed up with social media platforms like X(?) and Reddit and then come to alternatives demanding the same features that, at least in part, led to them being fed up in the first place.

I actually disagree with OPs assertion that these federated platforms are ‘almost as good’. Theyre better. More features doesnt mean a better platform and in my opinion often makes them worse.

New England has a decently strong Acadian presence. But Acadians dont typically think of themselves as French, per se. They think of themselves as Acadian. The French influence is recognized of course, but its a different way of looking at ancestry.

I worked at a fruit processing plant. We found maggots in the blueberries. Line got shut down for obvious reasons.

Owner of the company came in and said ‘pack them anyway’. We knowingly sent out blueberries with maggots in them.

Needless to say that company sucks and people hate working there.

I liked Dark Dawn (DS one) but it didnt quite have the charm of the originals. Still worth playing though in my opinion.
