I’m glad gamers are finally escaping Microsoft’s grasp. The latest corporate bloatware is simply too ineffective for users that are always looking to squeeze as much oomph out of their machines as possible.

I see a lot of people in this thread reacting with open hostility and derailment every time men’s issues are mentioned. Have you tried not being a part of the problem?

The fact that Microsoft charges a subscription to word processors and spreadsheet software is nothing less than absurd. And the software itself is getting worse at every iteration

It’s simple - if your product or platform uses dark patterns, I will not use it. I will even use an inferior platform or product in order to be free to choose how I use my software.

Proprieatary software has become completely unusable, programs that would have been labeled adware and spyware are now being pushed by corporations as the norm. I use open source software in my workflow, but I am still hobbled by Microsoft’s awful OS.

The Windows ecosystem is an abominable pile of half-finished apps and dark patterns that should be slam dunked into the trash. The problem is in the leadership that is laser-focused on milking business users who are used to Microsoft’s abusive practices.

Why? The browser client is ok.

Ffs, neural networks and LLMs have their place and can be useful, but setting up datacentres that snort up the entire internet indiscriminately to create a glorified chatbot that spews data that may or may not be correct is insane.

At this point i’m pretty sure most windows users have a degradation fetish they’re too ashamed to admit.
