Microsoft open-sourced all of dotnet core, which is arguably the largest and most well-maintained (with exceptions) collection of tools/platforms for developers that exsists to date. So, I don’t really agree that they’re just “making face”

Where are you located? Personally I am located in Sweden and have some tips and tricks here, but my knowledge is limited outside here sadly. Personally, I applied to a coding bootcamp and worked my way up because I knew for certain that I wanted to become a developer, and didn’t want to mess with the “other stuff” that a university program implies. I had some very limited previous experience with coding. Most countries usually have something more “job specific” and shorter than a uni program, and in that case I would recommend something like that!

Most important of all: Please just DO IT. I worked as a lathe mechanic for years longer than I should have. I was just scared of change. Now, I am happy every single day to go to work, because I remember how hard my life used to be. Take my advice and don’t be afraid, if you feel like a job in IT would fit you better!

As someone that used to be a blue collar worker but now is a software developer, people like us REALLY need a reality check. Working from home is a privilege that most people will never experience, and I am forever grateful for having the opportunity.

I do believe microsoft is doing a great job in the .NET-sphere (Core) nowadays though, after open sourcing. Everything is standardized in a way which makes it a breeze for developers to jump onto a new project using never tools. As a full-stack dev, this is something that the javascript-world could learn from lol

To be fair most people still cook with teflon, albeit PFOA-free, so we’re still actively consuming teflon. And the worst part? You need to use plastic cooking-utensils with teflon pans. And as plastic utensils wear down they shed lots of microplastics straight into your food.

I’m usually very sceptical about things that “might supposedly” be bad for you, but even I refuse to buy any teflon pan and/or plastic cooking utensils. I now use cast iron with steel utensils :D

I couldn’t care less if someone made a clone of my CPU to use for themselves. This isn’t the same as pirating
