• Mommy
• Mama
• Ma (definitely can become Maaaaa at times)
• Uma
• Mother (usually in a jokingly stern tone)
• Her name (when she’s being particularly deaf)

If you have money to invest, you aren’t struggling to survive.

I don’t disagree with you that slave labor is bad regardless of who, what, where, how. I disagree, however, that there’s not much difference between purchasing products you need and investing in a business.

Some folks can’t afford anything except cheap clothing/household goods from overseas, where they are often made in sweatshops with slave and/or child labor; it’s not their fault that they can’t afford to purchase ethical products. No one needs to invest in a business, though, so choosing to invest in one that deals in slavery is that investor’s fault.

For those of us who can afford ethically-sourced/made items, though, I agree that it’s quite similar. I have no excuses other than people are, as a whole, not good to each other. :(

Anyone voluntarily participating in the US for-profit prison system is, almost assuredly, a problematic person with questionable morals.

It’s literally making money off of slavery. If you would not be proud to call yourself a slave-owner, I’d hope you would also not be proud to invest in slavery.

Yeah, my first playthrough, I thought it was just NPCs chirping around me, but it turned out that they were real people! As players got more scarce, it was truly a special experience finding someone and going through parts of the game with them. I remember I encountered someone a few levels in and we somehow ended up together until we crawled up the snowy mountain, trying to keep each other from freezing. Not a single word spoken, yet this game has such powerful messaging.

I hope you get the opportunity to encounter your own Journey companion on a playthrough. :)

Journey is my favorite game, hands down. It was even more magical in the years after its release and there were still a bunch of active players. Did you encounter any others on their journey in your game?

Back in the day (haven’t tried it in over a decade), pizza hut made really good deep dish pineapple pizzas. The crust was crunchy and just shy of being too greasy and I loved it. But I also love pineapple, so.

If we’re talking absolute favorite, then I’m a Chicago deep dish kinda person. White or pesto sauce, cheese, artichokes, onions, tomatoes, grilled chicken, spinach, bacon, maybe some more meat or veg. Gimme that and a fork and knife and I’ll be very happy.

It’s not exactly a “little treat,” and it has a different mouth feel to making cold brew with cocoa.

This is a weird one, but hear me out. Undiluted cold brew coffee mixed with chocolate meal replacement powder and milk. The powder and milk make it really foamy when mixed and it tastes so good; it would probably also be amazing blended with ice.

I don’t tend to eat until later in the day so this has the added benefit of making me feel less guilty for forgetting to eat.

Also, frozen pudding cups are yummy.

California, here, and not any of the parts that get snow. (Closest we get is hail, which feels like it happens maybe twice a decade.) We called it “snow,” too. :)

I didn’t know that about German and capitalization. That’s fascinating! How would that play out verbally? Would you just have to figure it out from context?

I really like these. They all seem very poetic, at least in English. I think my favorite is “near the ink it blackens, near the lamp it lights.”

I think it’s hilarious how often different languages use genitalia in their idioms. These feel like they’d work really well, even in English.
