I bought a topo map a few weeks ago for a backpacking trip. Electronics are heavier and less suitable for that purpose in my opinion.
Just a geek, finding my way in the fediverse.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aluminum_can
The inside of the can is lined by spray coating an epoxy lacquer or polymer to protect the aluminum from being corroded by acidic contents such as carbonated beverages and imparting a metallic taste to the beverage
Guess it depends on your definition of “plastic” and if someone would colloquially refer to an epoxy lining as plastic. Not here to debate word meanings but there is definitely a liner inside aluminum cans.
gun-zip just rolls off the tongue better. Two syllables instead of three? Yes, please.
I’ve never heard fs-tab in my life. Always f-stab. Hmmm…
I can confirm two in use simultaneously and a total of three connected (2 xbone, 1 PS5) but we were playing a two player only game. I would assume that if the game supports it, the deck would too.
… But that’s an assumption :)
EDIT: to clarify - the wireless connectivity support is from the deck, not the dock.
I can’t think of how there could be any but I’m not a lawyer 🤷
You’re just preventing unwanted content from reaching your device.
Host it yourself with Ladder : D
https://github.com/everywall/ladder
I started hosting this when 12ft wasn’t working for many things. I told a friend and they said “what about 1ft?” Which I hadn’t seen before. Now that other commenters said 1ft is shutting down, I’m glad I went ahead with self hosting Ladder
Also might check out /c/selfhosted for more self hosting info.
I was going to make a remark about the price of dirt, then I remembered buying non-clay soil for the garden. In retrospect, it’s cheaper than dirt.
I mean… Expiration dates are mostly a lie anyway. Just do the sniff test, probably fine.
But, on topic, I do appreciate the post since that’s weird.
Not exactly to your question, but a company I used to work for would ask for experience in internal only tools on job reqs.
Sure, hopefully it’s for people making role changes internally, but it seems a bit weird to ask for experience in for an entry level job.
Currently migrating a massive monolithic Java application to microservices… The circle of life continues.
Want to just swap jobs in ~5 years to keep the cycle going? You can migrate this project back to a Java monolith and I’ll migrate your monolith back to micros :D

How am I supposed to doom scroll without doom posts?
; )
For years I’ve desoldered components from electronics that are destined for recycling/trash. I haven’t needed them more than a few times but it’s redeeming when I need a specific thing I’ve never needed before and can pick one out of my component box rather than buying a pack of 100 and never use 99 of them.
Tiny momentary SPST switches are definitely the most common thing I use from the bin but I’ve also reused some LEDs, capacitors, and resistors.
Do you work with me? I’m in the US south and my EU colleagues love “y’all” and have started using it (ironically or not :) pretty often.
Warms my heart.
I had one. I don’t remember why though… Maybe it came with a PC as part of a sales promotion?
It worked fine but nobody else had one so it was really just used for backups of “large” (at the time) data.
Good info, thanks bud
I have no useful info to add but posting to follow since I’ve got one of their 220s that’s kind of flaky and have been debating poking around inside.
Full sun in the fall and it was waffling between 0w and ~18w while feeding an AC200P. But the next day with almost exact conditions and location it was getting around 180w for awhile at least.
Then life got busy and 9 months later I haven’t retested. It was “free” with a promotion though.
