Are you using Claude web chat or Claude code? Because my experience with it is vastly different eve when using the same underlying model. Clause code isn’t perfect and gets stuff wrong, but it can run the project check the output and realize it’s mistake and fix it in many cases. It doesn’t fix logic flaws, but it can fix hallucinations of library methods that don’t exist.
Makes me wonder how many on here were around when the term was coined and the behaviour was mostly expected.

What kind of range do you have on that? I’ve been debating installing a l2 charger because overnight charging is usually good enough. I tend to get about 15-20 miles range tops on pure electric.
The problem with human curated lists is that in order to block bots everything will require an account to access. That’s the real tragedy here.
That is my main beef with this particular hype train. People will be negatively effected by it, who had no choice in it. With the NFT hype a few years ago nobody was impacted unless they chose to dive into that area.

I tend to agree; however, during that time plenty of folks will be let go by middle management buying into the hype.
StackOverflow solved this specific issue pretty well IMO. Each downvote costs you a reputation/karma/fake-internet-point. Lemmy doesn’t count karma, so that’d a bit of a nonstarter, but for systems that do, that feels like a good way to discourage rampant use of downvotes.
I’ve had this idea as well, and I definitely see some benefits though as stated in the thread by someone else, most admins would want to be on a groups instance and not a users instance and I’m not sure how to combat that. The thought that occurred to me was a lemmy federation compatible community only instance server that could augment the current thrediverse landscape. Essentially making it easier to spin up a community for your topic than it is to spin up a while new instance. It would still be easiest to just make a community on your main user instance but it would introduce a new difficulty level for communities to run separate without standing up a whole Lemmy instance.

Communities moving to ‘chat’ based platforms instead of traditional discussion boards is something I’ve observed a lot in the last few years. Which certainly feel like a step backwards in my view. It keeps happening though, so I must he in the minority opinion on this.

It’s a never ending onslaught of beginner questions and experienced folks with domain knowledge burn out. I’m sure it’s good when it’s new and fresh and everyone is exited to participate, but that wears out. It’s why things went away from mailing lists, or why mailing lists started getting archived, so they could be searched.
I guess with most things it comes in cycles, and we’re at the on demand answers cycle right now.
Ephemeral discord servers are awful because they don’t scale and they can only ever help the lowest common denominator of questions/issues. We need something else, but it has yet to present itself as a solution.
Regarding obsolete models, that’s only partially true. There’s loads of content that are effectively “finished” and won’t be changing, and will grow obsolete at a fairly slow pace. Meaning they’ll be useful in the models once trained for years.
Obviously new technology and similar ideas/content that didn’t exist when the model was created won’t be there, but the amount that changes and or is new is relatively small each year compared to all the historical content.
Nah. They will cross licence with the other big players effectively closing the market to anyone they don’t bless.

It took me a while to realize that me and my close circle are so far removed from what most people are doing so I could logically accept that there are people who click ads and buy the stuff.
I hate ads as much as anyone on Lemmy, so I deliberately avoid clicking the ones that slip through uBlock, but I do accept that just seeing them has some influence on me.
There are huge deaths of folks that blissfully unaware (maybe by deliberate ignorance) and just happily buy stuff that’s advertised to them.
While it’s appalling to me, it’s not even something most people consider or even care about. I don’t mean this to be gatekeepy or elitist, it’s just a different value system and that’s fine, that’s what I had to realize and that’s why ads are big business.
Progressive web apps are your friend. They can install through edge having their own icon and task bar button, but they are just the same web just in a special tab with the aforementioned behaviour.
