I’m in my mid 40s and I care about things more and have more experience and context to understand everything. I definitely wouldn’t start smoking, I actually am taking better care of my health now because I don’t want to be sick for the last 30 years of my life like all the boomers. By virtue of posting to lemmy you are statistically likely to live into your 70s so I think your understanding of what old is or how bad you feel when you mistreat yourself is way off.

I’ve gained a lot in my life learning Urdu and Hindi and encourage more people to learn. They are essentially the same language with different scripts, but unlike Arabic or Chinese they are Indo European languages and are much easier to learn. I grew up speaking farsi so maybe it was easier for me but if you work in IT knowing Hindi is indispensable.

Edit: For the downvoters, they for real negligently designed a system that killed people when it fails. The CEO as an officer of the company holds liability. If corporations want rights like people when they are grossly negligent they should be punished. We can’t put them in jail so they should be forced to divest their assets and be “killed.” This doesn’t even sound radical to me, this sounds like a basic safe guard against corporate overreach.

All of the Cemex board members are American institutional investors. Cemex operates as a mafia in Mexico for the profit of American oligarchs. Cemusa was the old name of a parent company which was folded into Cemex, I’m old.

It is right next to the United States and they operate their military on the border and own all the politicians and businesses in Mexico. This is like telling an abused wife it is her fault for not standing up for herself.

Cemex/Cemusa, they buy all the cement Mexico which due to international pressure has no ability to tariff it or anything then sell it back to Mexicans at extremely high prices so Mexico, which is the Saudi Arabia of cement, is filled with half built buildings because no one can afford fucking cement.

I figured this all out and it was all my fault. I had a WAF rule blocking fediverse traffic on by accident and my instance had the allow list configured by me while stoned and I didn’t realize that blocked everything that wasn’t on it.

Weird my vegantheoryclub.org instance shows up on browse.feddit.de but not lemmyverse.net

For some reason !weedtime@lemmy.world is not on browse.feddit.de but is on lemmyverse.net
