Of course, they make your personal information completely open to hackers and advertisers. They also make you open your wallet to buy a Windows 11 compatible computer.

The problem is that handhelds need games that are easy to get and out of. PC has tons of those games while the PS4/PS5 has very few of. Also while some people want to play console games on the go it’s less fun on a smaller screen.

If they just released a handheld PC but with their UI and store as default it would probrally make tons of money, of course that means respecting their customers so its unlikely.

IMO for this to have any chance against the Switch 2 it needs to be able to run PC games. Ps5 is already struggling with very few games (with most of them likely not working in such a handheld format), it needs something to sell on. Meanwhile Microsoft just needs a handheld compatible with gamepass and they’re basically set.

Even Lenovo is doing it with Thinkpads, the t14 gen 6 has soldiered ram and only two USB A ports

Dells are reliable and high quality machines, sure they’re no Thinkpads but some of them are business quality and they’re all better then HP or Asus

On one hand great, on the other hand it would be great of Mastadon was the Twitter replacement instead of another proprietary non-fediverse service.

Even if bluesky somehow finishes decentralization its still fundamentally incompatible with the fediverse. In addition I doubt that itll become truly open source.

That’s not completely true, in Linux there are many points where old software sucks and new software isn’t ready for mass adoption. Like when everyone knew x11 was deprecated but nothing supported Wayland (to this day major WMs like cinnamon and xfce still haven’t switched over and most small wms never will). It gets better over time but there are dips in quality and Linux devs do sometimes make mistakes.
