30 miles in distance, which doesn’t seem like much. But very different culturally. Where I grew up often didn’t feel like home even when I lived there. It definitely doesn’t now.

Man, I meet so many people who have left Ohio. People love leaving Ohio. In fact, an abnormally high proportion of astronauts are from Ohio. People wanna leave Ohio so bad, they leave earth.
Not giving someone $5 ultimately won’t do anything to change that. The government needs to implement radical harm reduction policies.
The one that put video game music as an art form on the map.
Are you an American? Start planning how to get out of there.
This isn’t a realistic option for most people. On an individual basis, it’s expensive and difficult if not nearly impossible for many people. On a macro level, there is simply nowhere so many of us can go.
This is really it, my entire worldview was shaken and is adrift. There was other non-COVID stuff around that time for me that intensified it, too. I look at that person from 2019 and feel like she is a stranger.
NYT games to wake my brain up and allow me to endlessly procrastinate with actually getting my day started.
This is pretty high stakes
Okay this is my favorite
YES her super close friendship and subsequent dramatic friend breakup with Karlie Kloss is exactly the kind of shit I did when I was closeted.
I too have spent way too much time wondering why “ov” didn’t look quite right
Have your asked your dad? What does he say? Did you tell him that you think it would be harder for you and ask what his opinion is?
Not saying you have to, just curious if you did how it went. I’m in a similar boat.
This doesn’t answer your question, but I’m curious. You say your writing is good but your reading is bad. In my experience reading and writing are so intrinsically linked, and reading is the easier of the two. If it’s possible can you explain the difference for you? I just find it really interesting!
I tried to find this video not on tiktok but couldn’t, sorry. But here’s an example: https://www.tiktok.com/@donnarodgers492/video/7398470961059712299
Just don’t say it. Just skip the word. And if you do it when singing privately,it should be an automatic habit when you do it around other people.
I’m glad you pointed out that this is in reference to old literature. Whenever I see a white person singing to a song and they say it “because it’s just part of the song,” hard cringe. Just didn’t say it. Skip the word. It’s easy.
A good example I can think of is that young white man at the DNC singing along with Not Like Us who was so joyous and animated and went viral. When it came to the n-word, he just skipped it. Just fist pumping and keeping the energy, and closing his mouth for one word. A lot of people noticed and were grateful that he was respectful in this way.
This is not helpful but I just want to kvetch. It seems like any appliances you buy nowadays are just so shitty compared to even ten years ago. Even brands that have long been reliable are so hit or miss. I have a mini-fridge that’s almost 30 years old and still works fine. I keep being tempted to buy one with a better freezer or that’s more energy-efficient but I worry it would kick the bucket and be unrepairable within 5 years.
Never knew how much I needed this, holy shit. Mine beeps when it finishes but also beeps again if I haven’t opened the door in, idk, some amount of time. Which I get why it’s a gesture and sometimes I actually do find it useful but often I’m like “I KNOW, GIMME A MINUTE”
You beat me to it, just from a TV show.
But I bet Nancy in HR thinks it’s satanic and is reacting as such.
