Plasma is the only good Linux desktop left. Gnome has shit itself, all the other alternative DEs are too feature-poor, and WM “desktops” are for people who have more time on their hands than common sense. I’m just afraid that just like the past, Plasma will discover new ways to screw itself over and become trash again and have to climb back out of being complete garbage back up to usable again.

This happens with most Linux installs particularly with Windows 11, but you can still boot to Linux from your BIOS. Interestingly enough, the only Linux distro where this has not happened is Fedora, which also doesn’t fuck the system clock up to make the Windows clock wrong. Fedora seems to be doing everything right these days.

Meetings are detrimental to my coding time. If they want me to sit around doing nothing for hours on end they should just tell me to do that instead of dragging me into a room with other people talking about how important they think they are. If they really want information about what I’m doing, email exists.

Goes both ways, doesn’t it? Except my stance makes more sense because there are actual, undeniable issues with mobile devices and thay are demonstrably inferior devices in every single way. The sooner we understand this, the sooner we can stop carrying around a tracking device that monitors every single thing that you do.

Mobile is garbage. It is a barely controllable platform with horrible UI, horrible ways of doing things, touchscreen that is incredibly irritating to use, etc. I cannot understand how we, as a society, decided this would be our future. I get the idea of basic communication anywhere you go but internet? You can’t wait until you get home to do internet? You can’t download data and information to a more simple and usable device like we had back in the Palm Pilot days that came standard with a stylus and a sane way to enter data instead of jabbing at tiny squares with our fingertips? No idea how people actually use mobile devices as their primary computing device now. I have to have a real PC to do anything with and my only reason I have a smartphone is for talk/text (no mobile internet) and doing similar things to what I used a Palm Pilot back in the day for, offline data to have on the go for whatever purpose I need it for.

We need to go back.

Nah, bring back the context menu button that some Androids had that pops up the main menu of whatever application you’re using. Fuck, I miss that.

Hell, the current Plasma and its compositor are far more stable in Wayland than Gnome. It amazes me that Wayland can actually be usable when using a desktop that is stable.

But Krita is more of a digital painting software and less an image editor like Gimp is. Sure, both can to a certain extent do the other, but Krita’s focus and Gimp’s focus are very different and using one for the other isn’t the most effective.

Gimp is awesome and people just need to use it with the understanding that it isn’t Photoshop and it does things different ways.

Religion is harmful to people and atheism isn’t. Do these people complain when someone shuts down a speaker who advocates having sex with young children? No? Then shut the hell up and let us kill religion like it should have been centuries ago.

I’m sure they’re all fine shows but I just can’t bring myself to care about television any more. Haven’t watched a new movie in who knows how many years, too.
