I’m setting up some things for myself before I start proper streaming but little test streams I’ve done have been very successful!
And I’ve subbed to the community, so really appreciating the advertising. Cx

Owncast is rather interesting to me. Self-hosted streaming platform that can use the ActivityPub to publish streaming notifications, if desired.
While it still works, you can use old.reddit.com to get around those walls.
I was going to say this, too, but I was too lazy to fact check so I left it out. c: In other words, I’ve heard about this too.
How they are not completely mortified by that, I will never know.
I once heard a claim that they just can’t smell it themselves. I can believe it, because our senses tend to filter out sensations that are continuous.
WHAT?
I don’t use any Meta products and I’ve deleted any accounts I had on them. This includes the ones mentioned, Oculus (I have the CV1 headset but wouldn’t be able to use it that easily anyway due to switching to Linux) and WhatsApp.
So am I understanding you correctly? When I develop open-source software and put it on GitHub, the license, which GitHub offers you to set, is actually irrelevant because since the code is on a public website, it’s somehow automatically public domain?
I actually don’t know since I ran it before the API changes. It may be limited now that API usage is limited, depending on how it works.
Be sure to edit them before deletion in case it gets restored. There’s been reports of that happening.
I think the point here is that anything that can be indexed by search engines or archival crawlers would be better, so not Matrix either. Forums, for example. Like what happens if the Discord community gets deleted due to whatever circumstances? All of that gathered knowledge will be just gone with no way to recover or search for it.
This whole AI craze has just shown me that people are losing faith in their own abilities and their ability to learn things. I’ve heard so many who use AI to generate “artwork” argue that they tried to do art “for years” without improving, and hence have come to conclusion that creativity is a talent that only some have, instead of a skill you can learn and hone. Just because they didn’t see results as fast as they’d have liked.
Finland here. Tipping is in no way expected and it’s actually rather atypical to tip at all. Though no one will say no if you do decide to tip!
I’d scream “oh no!” so the wicked fairy wouldn’t figure out it’s fun for me and change their mind, and then I’d just chill with my dog or cat life. If I could be taken care of by a trusted person or people, that would be great.
I’ve had a field day while writing my thesis recently, realising I could bypass the paywalls by accessing the papers through the university proxy. It’s still bs, though, because it leaves this stuff only accessible to researchers and not your regular people who may be interested.
Though like PrinceWith999Enemies said, many paper writers will happily send you a copy if you email them about it.
So many furries are techies so not really surprised.
I saw this and One-Winged Angel started playing in my head.
Glad I went with AMD when I built my current PC with the purpose to go full-time Linux.
