  • Because once you learn how to switch browsers once, you already know what the process of changing browsers looks like and what to expect, removing the barriers if you switch again.

It’s like switching from Windows to Ubuntu. Sure, Ubuntu is not perfect, but by installing Ubuntu, you have already learned the process of installing a linux distro and what to expect if you decide to install a different one.

  • I daily drove a Oneplus 6 with PostmarketOS for a few months. While it was very cool and gave me a bunch of freedom compared to android, I missed things like always having proper mobile UIs and a working camera. It is my understanding that the fairphone 4 is in a similar state of support, if a bit worse. Can recommend it though if you like using linux and don’t need banking or a camera from your phone.

  • Interesting. I usually will use the measuring tools as a sanity check to make sure I did not mess up before I spend an hour printing. Most of my projects are mostly composed of primitives and boolean modifiers so I can usually put my dimensions in the panel that appears when you create an object.

  • I think it would be reasonable to have some medium sized text in the corner at the beginning of the video describing what kind of relationship Techlore has with its partners. Something like: “We received money from Corp to make this video about their product. We had full control about what statements we made”

  • Is there any special way that you use Blender that makes it good for CAD? I also love using blender for my 3D printing projects since I have lots of experience using it for animation projects and can make models very fast. It is just that it becomes much harder when exact dimensions are important which is where software like Fusion and FreeCAD shine, not to mention the parametric modeling.
