It doesn’t help that the devs unironically refer to themselves as tankies.
I mean, it’s not a huge deal because, y’know, it’s a federated service - but you could probably partially attribute the early population’s leanings to that.

In the states for example, the democrat politicians are actually right of center.
If you are calling right of center, “left leaning” then I could possibly agree with you. But I don’t think you are saying what you think you’re saying.
I’m from Germany. It’s far more left than the German center, it’s far more left than German reddit communities.
