A VEGAN influencer. Thanks for making that really clear.
this has nothing to do with being vegan. please stop.
She was a vegan promoting vegan diet online. How does that ‘have nothing to do with being a vegan’? what?!
The SUN: “SHE DIED OF VEGANISM!”
Lemming: “How does this story have nothing to do with her being vegan?!?!”
I see we’re already at Reddit type levels of idiocy.
Any vegan with half a brain knows that you need more than just fruit to be healthy. Assuming her death by infection is a result of her diet (which is possible, but we don’t know that), she died of being an idiot, not a vegan.
Because not all vegans eat the same restricted diet she was on. And not all vegans are anotexic, vegans do eat enough.
But I guess this vegan did starve herself. I don’t even think the sun suggested all vegans diets are deadly.
If they put it like that in the title, I see it like they are strongly implying it. Of course, I might be misreading it.
Also calling someone who eats only five different plants vegan does not sound really truthful to me either.
If she starved or died due to complications from her diet, if she wasn’t able to stave off an infection for example or recover properly from an illness that would not affect an otherwise healthy individual - I would say her diet or nutrition lifestyle is germane to the situation.
I believe that being vegan is a perfectly valid lifestyle and dietary choice but also people should be aware of some of the pitfalls.
Can you please elaborate why you feel that being vegan has nothing to do with it?
Because the overwhelming majority of vegans aren’t eating nothing but fruit? Come on dude you can’t actually be this dense.
Hey, vegan here. It’s okay if you want to hate veganism and/or vegans themselves. Quite frankly, I don’t care, but please refrain from omitting important details in the article to make plant-based diets as a whole look bad. It makes you look like a close-minded moron who will grasp at any straws to justify your position.
Any diet handled poorly will be nutritionally detrimental, no shit, and she just happened to handle her plant-based diet by consuming essentially nothing but raw fruit. For you to fail to acknowledge this actually makes me think you’re just, in bad faith, looking for any leverage you can get to shit on veganism when you don’t have to. I can assure you that, as a vegan, I find her dietary choices insane.
Let me leave you with this: think for a moment. Be a little more critical about how you approach a matter like this. I’m not saying this for my sake; I’m saying it for yours, so you don’t embarrass yourself online by coming off as a dense motherfucker with a straightforward, black-and-white, narrow , linear thought process.
Thanks.
Wow. Are you going to be ok? I’m not sure if you’re reading into my comment with some baggage.
You’re absolutely right about fruit based - I casually wrapped vegan and fruit based together without realizing that she was practicing an extreme diet and it wasn’t indicative of a vegan diet.
I suppose I’m not aware of how much grief you get from society or people to defend your choices.
I’ll try not to comment on vegan topics anymore and I’m not sure what I said specifically to deserve such venom but I’ll do my best to not come across as a moron I guess.
I didn’t obfuscate facts from the article. I wasn’t attempting to summarize the article. I was asking how her diet doesn’t account for issues stemming from her diet. But I see now what you mean that her being vegan and eating only fruit are two different things. I guess reading it casually I wasn’t sensitive to what must be your plight.
Hope you feel better.
I’m going to be just fine. Dude, I’m just interpreting this very face value. The article outright references eating “an all fruit diet”. The fact that you went out of your way to seemingly make this about veganism being the inherent concern just reeked of bad faith. CTFO.
