Fuck no. I handled it like a man and trial and errored it for weeks. I am ashamed to say that I had to ask the dealer for assistance to drive it off the lot because I was blocking people and they were getting pissed.
I’ve got a 2018 mini cooper SE hybrid. It has a little switch to turn on. The switch has its light on when the car is turned off and it’s light off when the car is turned on. It also has a third state after you get out of the car where it’s not really on or off but you can’t charge it or drive it until you turn it completely on or off. And you can’t turn it on if you don’t have it in neutral. And it doesn’t really tell you if the parking break is on except a little light on the center console which you never see, so the car may be on but you won’t be able to drive it because the parking brake is on. Sometimes it wont let you unplug it until you lock it and unlock it again for some reason.
And don’t even get me started on the CarPlay or the driver profiles or the park assist menu that overstays its welcome by about 3 minutes.
Fellow Mini owner. This is only one of the many questionable UI decisions made in my car. I literally had to get help to get it started the first time.
They set out to make the truck version of the Delorean and succeeded.
That toaster gives me the vibes of my '80s Apple //c
We all have one. I’m also not a professional programmer but I have stuff like this for my home automation that I know I should really clean up but it works so I don’t want to mess around and break it.
Mildly hilarious more than mildly infuriating.
You always have the option of a VPN. That and private mode is probably a good best practice for a site like this anyway.
Thank you! It was a pleasure working with you!
There was never more than about 10 of us on the chat. It was an exceedingly small operation with a pretty good impact IMO.
Make sure and get the always nitter plugin so you never have to see elon’s abomination again.
Listen, for the last 2-3 months, I’ve only visited Reddit to participate in /r/RedditAlternatives. I’ve moved everything here. I want to make that happen for others too. I’m happy here.
I don’t even subscribe to this subreddit or any of the ones about other social media sites. I tend to downvote anything I do see about Reddit or Twitter, because I just don’t need to hear about them any more.
I’m driving very little traffic Reddit’s way, and the only time I do so is to hasten it’s demise. The most people that we ever had on the chat planning this banner was around 10 that I saw.
This is getting tons of press. I’m quite certain we drove more people here than we drove traffic there. It’s worth it IMO.
If they are using GPL code, shouldn’t they also release their source code?
