Kbin needs some love with an app
There’s at least 1 in development, it’s called Artemis, but I’m sure there will be more once they have an API to work with. The web app for kbin is useable at least.
Absolutely. The website on mobile is functional, but rather inelegant.
I believe the api is being finished up now.
summit for lemmy is getting there …
Thanks!
Which ones do you use?
Memmy ftw!
Once I tried Memmy, I stopped paying attention to new apps.
I might have to try one or two mentioned here, though.
Thunder. Biased, as I’m on the dev team, but I think it’s the best so far, and has the best chance to continue towards real improvement.
Can anything be done about the laggy scrolling? It’s the only thing holding me back from using it. Exynos s22u.
Edit: FYI, I cleared cache and data and it’s much better now!
There were a few mistakes made with the scrolling that were causing the lag, they at least are now fixed for the next version.
Hopefully that will make a difference for you.
I like the app a lot, but I have issues reading the font, which is the main reason I use Jerboa. Had the same issue with Voyager, but they implemented the ability to switch font styles from IOS to Android. Any chance to see a similar option in Thunder in the future?
That would be cool! I’ll make an issue for it.
You can currently increase the font size, if that helps.
I like Liftoff - it uses the same layout as Relay, which I’ve used for years.
What’s your favourite so far?
Connect. As a former Sync user it is the most like it.
What’s your favourite so far?
Connect for Lemmy has been my mainstay. Waiting for Sync For Lemmy hotly.
Yeah I’m waiting for Boost and Sync to become available, but I gotta say that Connect has shaped up real nice a lot faster than I would’ve expected. Who knows, I might end up sticking with it.
Yeah Connect started ‘good enough’ for me, but has quickly progressed to be a really good app. I like it

Mlem: missing a lot of features but the ones that they have work very well. This one feels the most native because it is. This is my current choice because it is actually native and open source. That icon is ugly as hell, though.
-
Voyager: this one is a month ahead on features of ALL other lemmy apps. this one is the most feature-rich in that they have the ability to edit posts and do all kinds of other stuff. The non-native web app aspect causes it to lose LOTS of points in my book
-
Memmy: this one was easily my favorite but the recent updates have started to show how poorly architected it is. They have a TON of work to do under the hood to make this one feel solid again…and honestly, I sincerely think it may never feel as responsive and snappy because they made the strange decision to make an iOS only app in react native…
-
Liftoff: this one is pretty good but it just goes too far from the standard that Apollo set that I feel awkward in it.
-
Bean: this one is early days but already has some cool stuff that I wish other apps had (the profile button at the bottom has the icon from the currently signed-in user) I had been asking for that feature from other devs for FAR too long.
Good summary
It seems that the reddit refugees who used/loved RIF are the ones who use Liftoff, as they are very visually similar. I fall into that group. Having never used Apollo, I don’t have a comparison on that front.
Checking in. Tried a few after coming here from RIF and Liftoff has been the closest to RIF imo.

Memmy ftw!
On connect rn, when Artemis releases, in switching to that.
When there is actually accurate kbin api documentation, i will work on my own again
gonna catch em all
